    Cool Top Speed?

What is the top speed you have gone as a RT ryder?
I know no one has gone faster than the posted limit.
    Just what if.

I'll start. My top speed has been 75. I still am not in the groove.
I have hit the rev limiter in 3rd.

85 to 95 in quick pass situations (where safe of course). Mostly drive speed limit plus 4. Dealer has done the 120 mph.

your dealer said he did 120mph on a RT??? I have talked to people that could not get them over 95mph with the trailer. It would be awsome if they would do 120 for a touring machine.

Dealer said he drove his RS that fast. I dont know how fast he has done the RT. Sorry--i goofed on the top speed information here concerning the dealer. Did not pay attention that this was RT top speed only.

I get asked this quite a bit, and explain that it was not built for speed but on my Garmin it does show
top speed of 93 mph that I did while needing to pass someone on the freeway. But usually I ryde
at speed limit to + 5-7 mph . The dealership GM asked me how fast i had taken the trailer up to, he said
they (BRP) had tested it to 90 mph. I answered by saying that with the trailer i did go up to 80 and it
    was very stable.

I like the fact that the RT can reach the speed of 0 to 60 in 4.3 seconds. Although i wil never try to achieve this.

I usually ride somewhere between 65 and 75 mph but I've still got enough kid in me to want to know what it will do. On a straight, flat road with no appreciable wind, it indicated 102 mph. I don't have a GPS mounted so I had nothing to check the speedometer with. Later, I had my wife to hand hold a Garmin 330 and it indicated the speedometer was 2 mph fast at 60, 70, 80, and 90 mph. I expected the speedometer error to increase as the speed increased but it did not. The wife wasn't crazy about going any faster so we didn't. I think my base RT will do close to an honest 100 mph when conditions are right.

Did 105mph on Sunday for quick spurt. Looked down and had more to go. 105 was fast enough for a short distance.

My Black RTS with 2 suitcases in trailer - Garmin said 95 mph. (Trust me there was NO MORE)

Carols Blue RTS no trailer Garmin said 108. (And thats ALL IT HAD) I actually had a good tail wind , I have never duplicated that , its a 100 mph machine me thinks.

Carols Blue RTS with Carol driving , Garmin says 91.. (following me back from NC)

I'm on my way. Be there in a few days.
So far I've had it up to 90 while passing a couple of trucks. Maybe I'll push it tomorrow since I will need something to do while crossing North Dakota.

The problem is you have more left on the tach but not enough motor to get you to redline.

Tach is not a good indicator of what is left in high gear, for many machines.

I had the old 2008 SE-5 up to 125 on the interstate one day and there was more left if I cared to try it but I wisely backed off as there was a cop coming the other way when I rounded the corner. It was on a stretch of highway with no one in sight either way. I have not had the RT over 100 yet although it feel like to me it would easily do that. The main thing that limits the RT seems to be frontal area versus the earlier 2008 which was mainly bare bones with no rear seat or addons at that time. It was really a sprint model compared to the things an RT has on it. Bill

with the original windshield i could`nt reach much more than 110mls/h
now its cutted 2 inch .. but don`t think its realistic to reach 120mls/h
..as you know we have some "autobahn" where we are allowed to drive as fast as we want
get a new rearshock today so plan to make some more tests ..
(ok ..like a child - my wife said)
Outlander fairing - Fox-shock - BajaRon Swaybar - Hankook tire/ back - 165/50 Imperial tires front & longer front shocks - GIVI Topase - Shad sidecases -heated grips - new seats

Opened mine up today on the Interstate and got to 95mph in fourth and she wanted to pull more. Once fully broken in I'll see what she can do...of course I was one up in the saddle, no trailer, and no junk in the trunk!

The RT-S WILL do 115 mph... I have a Goldwing and a Raider that can vouch for it
(...and if I have the KAHONA'S I think there was more there!)
