BURNED LEG WARNING!!!, do NOT run with the side panels off!!
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?ai...8&l=682877dc97
This is what happens when you take the top black can am stickered panels off and ride for 80 miles one way.
I had a bowel issue and had to fly back and take care of which sucks big time on its own but when I got back I thought I had hit a bug or something with my leg cause it was wet. Well it turned out to be TORCHED, I don't know if it says to not run with the panels off the top and it does run cooler with them off but if you can not feel your legs then DO not try it. It was a theory of mine that taking the panels off would be like opening the door to an oven, the heat would escape and it would run cooler, this part was true but my leg was sitting next to the oven and then we have fried seth on the menu this afternoon.

My right arm looked like that (minus the hair) a few weeks back. Keeping Silver Sulfadiazine cream on it and taking my antibiotics have it almost completely healed. Take care of it so it doesn't turn into anything worse.

Ouch! Take care of that...
As far as panels go, they should be left on, now we know why!!!

WOW.. dude-- sorry for your problem.
I've ridden a few times with the Spyder nekkid and didn't have that problem. I took mine nekkid into the dealer for one of my service checks-- figured I don't need to be paying $90 and hour for them to remove and install panels.
Good thing to keep an eye on for sure!
Were you wearing shorts?

Good Grief Setho
Dear Crash Dummy
You are irreplaceable---.
Because of poor leadership caused by the previous administration there are no funds available for repairs. Continued abuse of the equipment---may lead to an immediate recall by the manufacture. I suggest you take action to repair our replace at your own expense now before discovery.
PS.
Try and remember you have been assigned to the Missouri Rendezvous in 2011
and another thing
Setho
There are many people who worry and are concerned about you. They are proud of all that you have accomplished and they brag about being your friend.
You have got to take better care of yourself.
PLEASE

HAHHA, that was hilliarous, the top part. I will heal up , just a little burn, like I have said on here, better for me to find out and tell people instead of a full human finding out and getting smashed up or worse.
Thanks to everyone on here for the kind words. My wrench and I figured it was the air channeled thru the radiator that cooked it on the right, I thought it I would be more worried about the left with the exhaust.
Testing, always testing. I wil say on the way back 70 miles in in about 40 minutes I did some of my best riding, don't worrry about what your speedo says, just make the corner, exit speeds were up about 10mph.

i've been burned like that under different situations.... Battle scars.... Gotta love em !!!

Just a tad too hot!
Given your legs and feet are not able to function properly, would the inability to do so have any direct affect as to the first and second degree burns? Possibly you were not physically aware of the damage caused?
That noted, the healing process is slow, any skin wound is. The skin is the largest organ in your body and hence probably is none too comfortable these days.
Diagnositics on any mechanical device is often an arduous task.
is there anybody with experience in your area who restore old auotmbiles or rebuild engines. Somebody who would be able to look at the engine, clean it and then operate it until the oil did leak.
Just wish I was closer. Although not yet a Spyder owner do have experience with lubricant leaking from petrol powered engines. Iti is often a matter of just taking one's time and to keep looking.
I suspect the source ofthe leak is something either not replaced correctly or a specific gasket has failed.
Best wishes, then.
