Clicking brake

When riding today I noticed as I was coming to a stop that the front left wheel was making a clicking sound as I applied the brake. The clicking only happened when the Spyder was in motion, but no clicking when pressing on brake pedal when stopped. Anyone experience this?

It is normal. You may be hearing the ABS controller initializing at each brake application, or if it is a repeated clicking sound, the pads as they pass the ventilation holes.

Mine does that, too but I have decided that it is the floating caliper lining itself up on the rotor. Since the calipers are asymetric (piston-driven pads on one side, only), something has to float. Since the rotors are fixed, the calipers must move. That, I think, is the clicking sound.

Caliper movement should be smooth (and lubricated). It should not make a clicking sound every time it moves. Clicks of that nature are metal-to-metal wear.

If you take the pads off and put them back on it goes away for a while. Once a month I take the pads off and put brake quiet on, and the squeal and clicking is gone.

Right again, Dr. Jones... err... Scotty!! Mine does it too and I researched it, thought about it and came to the same conclusion. Not that I am even half as knowledgeable as you are, but it made sense to me that was the case!

Mine does it too, a very rapid clicking noise like when we were kids (for those of us old enough) and put playing cards on our bicycle spokes. To me it seems like it mainly comes from the left side, but I'm half deaf anyway....
