Deer Hit Update
First of all, I would like to thank all of you for all your kind words and prayers, after my accident with the deer a week and a half ago. That meant an awful lot to me, and was very much appreciated.
I had an appointment with my family doctor Friday, and got my hand, rist, leg and ankle checked out. All is fine, just need to heal now, and get the strength back in the hand and thumb.
On Thursday, I got a call from the dealer, Leisure Life Sports in Omaha, and they said State Farm had been there Wednesday to look at the Spyder, and gave the go-ahead to fix it, so on Friday the parts were to be ordered.
So now the wait begins........ I miss my Spyder
....and we're gonna ride, we're gonna ride.....
ride like the one-eyed Jack of Diamonds, with
the devil close behind,.....we're gonna ride....

good to hear that your healing up, I was sure they would not total it, after my deer hit I could not believe what It cost to fix was so much lower. Of course i did the work myself, it was a little over 2 grand. You think you are going to make the chicago event?

Uhm... If you happen to end up with an "extra" fog light switch... I'd love to buy it.... Seems no dealer can find the part # for it.

Happy to hear that you are getting better... and hope that your spyder will be repaired and ready to go about the same time you are... I know that like the rest of us you would be out there riding it before you should if it weren't in the shop.
Now having said the above... I've got one in the garage you can ride if you don't mind riding it with the paint sanded off. Just too hot here right now to spray it. She won't let me spray it in the living room or den where its cool. Ken krb1945

Glad to hear things are working out. I'm thinking about getting deer alerts for the bikes even though I don't believe they work however if they work 1% it would be worth it. Enjoyed meeting you at Spyderfest in Cuba.

Even though there are part numbers in the instruction sheets, many of the bits in the accessory packages are not available separately on the BRP system. It took my dealer more than a year of leaning on BRP to get the foglight switch decal listed and a couple more weeks before it was assigned a price and was actually able to be ordered. You may not be able to snag one of these, even with a part number.

Glad to hear that parts on both you and your Spyder are going to be okay. I, too, enjoyed meeting you at Cuba and was sorry to read of your accident. I'm much closer than Florida if you thumb decides it needs to go out for a Spyder ride, you can come over So. IL way and take mine for a spin. I can ride one of the 2 wheelers and show you some of our good (that's relative) riding roads!

Called the dealer to check and see if he had this part # in his system. He said he did and could order it. I about fell out of my chair when he quoted me a price of $49.95.
