Default Is $14.9k for 09 brand new leftover a good deal?

Went to a local shop and they had 3 RS SM5 spyders.

What are they throwing in? Does that include tax and tags - out the door price?

This is very similar timing to my purchase. I bought my 08 brand new in the crate April 30th of last year.... I believe I paid $14100 *before tax and tags.

When I was talking to three dealers, I based my purchase decision mostly on the core purchase price to see just how low I could get them. Yes, I paid attention to any other delivery/setup fees, taxes, and tags... But in my case those fees were actually pretty close from dealer to dealer.

I wouldn't say $14900 is all that bad if that includes tax, tags, and delivery of a brand new spyder.

i believe it was their base and no, tax, title and tags are not inculded.

They are however offering a $600 rebate which will bring it down to $14.3k before TTL.

Did urs come w/ any accessories for that price ?

Wow, thats a ridiculous good deal guys. I wish i was more skilled at negotiating price. I'm not sure this dealer will budge since they say they are offering it for almost cost. But they do have 3 leftovers so they must not be selling that well.

That $600 is delivery and setup fees...my dealer didn't charge me for those either when I bought my bike.

I think 14.3K is cheap...certainly a lot less than what I paid for my 2008...then again, there was a waiting list when I bought mine, so no discounts.

That sounds like a fair price...stop haggling and just buy the thing...well, get 'em to 14k or a bit under and pull the trigger...can't ride if you don't have the bike and you're talking very little room for drop in price from where it is now...

    Nope.

That said, the one I bought was the only 08 leftover in my market.... dealer didn't have to deal as hard on that as the 09 prices I was getting.

In my area the demos were going for between 13 and 13.5k at the time. I was seeing pretty consistent prices from dealer to dealer and that was both before and after haggling with them. There was only one dealer that was way out of the ball park on price (high).

I do not think your price is a bad one. I would check with other dealers. It always pays to shop around.

yeah, i checked a dealer about 2 hours away and he had 2x 09 SM5 leftovers going for $15.5k.

Seems to me that the average good deal that people have got is in the mid 13k range. I don't think that would be an unreasonable offer since people have gotten below 13k.

Remember, while these things are great, they are not without issues. Dont travel away from your serviceing dealer over a couple hundred bucks.
$14,9 with BEST plus tax and tag (only) is a fair deal. Dont let them add set up fees and dealer fees to that price however.

    Default good deal

I got my 08 GS PE 123 from the previous owner. The Dealers in Ocala just made me MAD. THe asking price for my Spyder was 13,900 and I got him down to 13,000. Spydie only had 1,400 miles on it and came with a cover. The seller said PE were worth more money, but I'm not sure about that. I knew that the ryde was gonna be awesome, but I never forsaw the networking fun that comes with being a Spyder Lover!

Spyder is offering $1000.00 in merchandise or equipment with the purchase of a new unused 09 and $1500.00 for 08 along with 3.9% financing for 36 mos or 6.9% for 60 mos if needed. Make sure you get all you can!!
We just purchased a 09 se5 from a used luxury dealer with 1800 mi for $13900 + tax and tag $15300 out the door.
NADA guides online put a used 09 se5 low @ $12500 and avg @ $15500 so I think we did good including the taxes out the door @ $15300.
Our dealer originally wanted $15900 but we sold him on the fact that why should we pay his price when for $600 more than he was asking we could buy a 2010 and backed it up with prices from dealers online. So he took our offer of $13900 while he had the chance.
Bottom line...do your homework and save $$$$

    Good Luck

I paid $14.6 for a new '09 last June - which included the full BEST warranty, 6 spoke rims, and tank bag (installed) - out the door. The other stuff doesn't matter out here - $50 title & three years license and no tax…

Go in with cash, make an offer, and leave if they say no. If it's reasonable, there will be a dealer that will work with you.

Bought my '09 SE5 leftover from First Coast in St. Augustine FL for $14,800 out the door on April 15th! Also got the 3 year warranty, 6.9 financing and $1,000 in options that BRP was offering on new '09's. That was worth traveling 2 hours and not buying from the local dealer who would only do 16k out the door. You think I was doing a happy dance after that deal?

Last spring I checked the for sale on this site and found one in Virginia with only 499 milles and bought it for 11500. Then when I got it back to FL taxes and license added about a 1000 to the price. It had not even had it's first oil change. And to top it off it was a nice trip up to get it. Ken krb1945

You should be able to get a deal like the one Dragonrider got - or something equivalent. "I paid $14.6 for a new '09 last June - which included the full BEST warranty, 6 spoke rims, and tank bag (installed) - out the door. The other stuff doesn't matter out here - $50 title & three years license and no tax…"

That is pretty much what I got on my 08 SE5 (silver) over a year ago.

Ken found it slightly used from another member on this forum. If you buy a used one you will not get the free BRP accessory money, and most likely not the BEST warranty, but you could save a bunch of money. You can check the 4 sale section on here or EBay as well.

I paid $13.5K from another member on this forum for my wife's 09 SE5 with only 430 miles on it. Considering you are getting a new one from a dealer, if you can talk them into adding the BEST warranty for free and you will get the $1K in BRP accessories or clothing, $14.9 doesn't sound too bad at all.

Best of luck finding the Spyder that is right for your budget.
    Very Happy Spyder Ryder!

Someone has to pay the tax unless you buy from a private owner and the dealer is not going to do it. In Ga if you buy from a private owner you still have to pay advalorem tax which is an annual owners tax or property tax based on market value or about $80 on a 09

Much better than SC where I had to pay the state maximum of $300 sales tax, and then they hit me for $560 personal property taxes.

Oh yeah, welcome to the site as well.

That sounds real good to me. I paid $17,500.00 for my leftover 2009 SE5. That was with $1000.00 off (so they told me). It did not include tax, title, set up fee or any extras. I ended up paying just a few dollars short of $20,000.
