Honey, I'm Home.....Again.
Picked up my RTS today. It has been nearly eight weeks in the shop. Night and day difference!!! I must admit, I was very uncertain. I was beginning to think I had lost the touch...and possibly my marbles, to boot. I was not crazy...my RTS had some serious problems.
This is like a whole new machine. Absolutely amazing transformation! Not only do all the lights work now, but it handles like I expected it to. No hunting all over the road, sudden lane changes, or need for my undivided attention. I can ride it normally, even on the highway. One hand is no longer a problem, and it does not feel like it is out of control on cruise. Yes, it is different from the RS, but it is not radically different, and unpredictable, as it was before. I am so relieved! Runs strong and true, now, too. I was able to drop down a gear in most situations. Very smooth, and no sign of the previous misfire. It stops, too! The brake problem has been resolved, and it stops as it should.
I have to do the remainder of the 600 mile service tomorrow, then I can start to rack up some miles, at long last. I have missed a few events, but there are several more on the horizon. No camping quite yet. The trailer hitch and mods will have to be installed in the next few weeks. I delayed my ESI and my comm system orders, in case things could not be resolved.
Many thanks to Carlo and Kurt from BRP for their valuable assistance in this struggle. Thanks also to Jeff at Leaders Marine, and the rest of Leaders' service staff, for their patience and persistence. Long delays are much easier to accept when the end result is this outstanding. Sorry I lost faith.

Congratulations! So, what was the cause of the handling issue?

I've had some handling problems with mine that got fixed so I always knew it was possible to get yours repaired, just didn't know if you would be successful with all your issues.
I'm very glad your on the road again.
If it ain't broke, don't break it.

Extreme Congrats' Scotty
This is and definitely re-assuring news. With your sad tail of woe along with my extreme clutch problem I too am a bit discouraged. Your news has lifted my spirits somewhat. Here I am facing 2-3 or more weeks of down time plus the fact that they have to pull my engine with only 620 miles on this rather expensive machine is very disappointing or worse. Thanks for your uplifting news... Here's wishing you some serious high mileage rewarding Spyder riding in the days ahead... Len

Scotty, that is great news!! Hey I know you and Nancy have no desire to go the BRP event in Chicago, but I was wondering would you like to ride a ways with us as far as lunch at Portillos? You are right on the way, it wouldn't be much to make one more pick up. Lunch is just south of Gary IN so it would only be a few hours ride back as well. Just thinking about ways for you to get some miles on your spyder and get in some riding with other spyders at the same time.
