Well i finally took it for a ride... put settings 2 & 3 at 3 and moved setting 4 down to 5 . This seemed to take away some popping i had on decel at low rpms. going to make sure i don't have an exhaust leak. Also going to move 4 down a bit more until the popping goes away. This is what i was wondering where did you guys mount yours to play with it... i have to take my panel off everytime. Which isn't a big deal as its only a few screws but i didn't know if i could fish it out of the plastic any way. Also how will i know when i go to lean... im still dumbfounded that two bows put setting 4 up so high with the results that i saw on my plugs im glad i didn't leave it there any longer haha.

All I do is lift the seat and fish out the controller. I'm still playing adjusting on mine. Using bonecrusher settings I was still getting some backfiring on decel. The next fill up I'm going to use MM settings and see if it's any better.

I put mine under the plastic piece that the tank bag sits on...put velcro in there and it fits perfectly...I simply take off the two plastic tabs, adjust as need, put it back, put the two plastic tabs back in, and good to go...

I don't like it under the seat, but that's just me...I like it tucked away and hidden...I think Lamont has his here too...

Can you list what the MM settings are?

I'm running good with these settings: 1-, 2-3, 3-2, 4-5, 5-1.5, 6-4. Like a lot of you I still get some popping on decel especially on hot days. I have replaced the y gaskets with the Honda ones. I have just installed the 02 modifier from Evoluzione. Before I report on it I'm going to run it for awhile to be sure of what I have. As we all know Mother has a way of interfering.

Drop your number 4 setting and see if that affects the popping/backfiring...it made a difference for me.

I just had the second update so I have no idea what I'll end up with now...

Having the #4 'cruising' setting higher than the #2 and #3 'acceleration' and 'wide open throttle' settings doesn't make sense to me.... you want more fuel on accel and WOT.

Mine is running pretty good--- but still has a 'glitch' every now and then when de-accelerating... gets 'caught' between modes and stumbles. This is much better than when I had modes 4 & 5 set the same and the JB got confused and would cut the engine on acceleration/WOT.

I've heard that 2 Brothers 'laughed off' the idea that having settings 5 & 6 set the same would cause problems..... well--- to this I say they have obviously not ridden a Spyder with those settings set the same.

Nothing against 2 Brothers, but realize they don't make these units. They are made by Dobeck Performance.... who was originally the co-founder of Dynojet/Powercommander... but they went separate ways. Dobeck also makes the Aerocommander used for the Aerocharger kits.

Not saying one is better than the other... just that 2 Bros. is re-branding the units (just like aerocharger is doing) and probably doesn't know as much about them as the actual manufacturer.

I'm leaning towards getting a Power Commander with the Auto-Tune setup---- after they get the kinks worked out.

I didn't want to say anything yet but so far with the 02 modifier I have no popping issues but lets wait awhile. Now 2 bros. recommends a higher #4 setting than 2&3 and with my machine no matter where I set the other settings mine seems to run best at 5 and over for setting 4.

I give up with this thing.... i cannot get my bike to get out of the lean mixture. I checked my plugs after having some riding on them and they were white. this was just when i pulled them at a cruise speed. I had my JB settings at 6,6,5.5,4,2... i dont get what else i need to do. i sanded the flat part of the plug so it was clean and i could get a good reading. i upped my settings to 7,7,7.5,4,2 and im still running lean at a cruising speed. my gas mileage hasn't increased im still getting 25 to a gallon im not running any hotter then normal 4-5 bars sometimes 6 which is normal for me... i dont get it. Im taking my bike to get tuned on a dyno if they can fit it on ( which im praying they can ). I don't know what else to do anyone have suggestions.... im just hoping my bike isn't messed up. If i was running to lean would i have got a check engine light or anything like that? if i did damage anything would i have hit limp mode from it getting so hot? right now im running the kewl metal intake, two bros dual and JB.... any suggestions would be awesome as im about to go insane worrying and wondering. what a way to spend a birthday today.... going to drive home 2.5 hours get my dads truck and trailer, drive back to get my bike and drive back home..... cant wait

I doubt you've run too lean to the point of any damage... so I don't think your bike is 'messed up'. The Spyder was set up to run lean from the get-go. Putting the Spyder on a Dyno is going to take some work---- they'll have to remove the speed sensors from the wheels.

As far as MPG---- you shouldn't expect higher MPG after adding the mods you have----- you'll be lucky if they remain close to what you have been getting.

I really hope the Power Commander with auto-tune can take the guesswork out of what many of us have tried....

I hear you man on the power commander with auto tune im thinking about getting a wideband for this just so i know all the time what im running. I wasnt aware of them running lean from the get go... that makes me feel better everyone i was with tonight was like oh your gonna burn a hole through your piston blah blah... had me freaking out. I thought the JB with my combo i could get a bit more mpg's... also i called a dealer today and told them i had one he said he could tune it without a dyno... can buds tell you what the afr is? anywho heres pics of what my plugs looks like let me know what you think... honestly they look alot more grey in real life... thanks for the info

also firefly i think we all need to get this and say later on the the JB.... i know how you love the boost

    Oh boy....hmmmmm...

My performance and MPG changed significantly with the JB (I do have a hindle and green filter). When I first got my bike, I was running at about 26 mpg. As I got better with riding, I got up to about 28-29. I got the hindle, green, and JB and with these changes, the bike certainly felt more responsive/faster. I also figured out how to get my mileage up...I have now seen up to 35 mpg...wow!

I haven't been on the bike in a few weeks now due to host of factors, but I'll be riding on Sunday at Rolling Thunder...I'll be resetting the JB to see what needs to change due to the second update...

Figure this....if your bike runs really lean, it might be trying to correct this...there goes your mileage...is there anything else that could be going on to determine what the issue is? My JB was creating a lot of popping when dropping through 4th gear...decelerating...I dropped back number 4 and I don't get any of the popping anymore. (I do have to see what happens now)....I found the JB to make significant changes to bike function...

My JB creates popping in every gear when im decel from 4500rpms to 2400 also if im in that range and just pull back enough to get the rpms up 100 it pops as well. the backfiring im not to worried about its the running lean part. Im just gonna have the dealer check it out he seemed to know his stuff when i asked about it and i trust him, hes a straight forward guy if he couldn't do it he would tell me. So i know my spyder will be in good hands... its need the 6000 mile maint anyways ( im at 5250 now so taking in a bit early ). I dropped number 4 back as low as 3 like you had said before but i didnt get to check the plugs.... this is where i step away and hand the dealer my keys haha..... when you make adjustments are you checking your plugs or going by the butt dyno.... my butt dyno says this thing runs like a beast lol

I have basically the same setup as most of you guys and had similar symptoms, but now I've added the 02 modifier and everything seems to have fallen nicely into place. I too believe I was still running a little lean no matter where my JB settings were until the 02 modifier was put into play. Hey its only $90, one of my cheaper mods....try it.

Dang you are good, you hit this one right on the head. Dealer called yesterday i told him to check the purge valve per your suggestion and BINGO it was bad they are replacing it and tuning it for me. cant wait to be on the road again. Thanks everyone for all of your help!!

Update: I took the spyder for a ride on 6/25 with the bad purge valve the dealer cleaned it etc to try and hang me over for the weekend (there was a local bike event in the area which brp was there and many others). When i pulled out at first light on my way home from the dealer the bike cut out on from 1400 rpm to 2500 ( which was something new it never cut out on accel but idle was steady at 1350 - 1400). after that it cleared and rode fine home (anywhere i didnt have to fully stop). I made it home with no cutout during crusing. stopped at home for 20 min and headed out again. 3 min into the trip the bike started cutting out so bad it would almost stall while riding temp outside was about 85ish. i finally made it to a safe place to stop about 400 feet away and got the bike towed home. i started it back up after letting it sit for 20 min and the idle would drop to 1250 every 20 seconds or so. I tried clamping the purge valve the idle was still hitting 1250 every so often, took it for a small ride as soon as it hit over 80 degrees it started cutting out again. i took it home and it back to the dealer. they called today after putting new purge valve in and he said its still dieing on acceleration and he cant get enough fuel to it with the JB. hes going to take off the kewl metal intake and put my stock one back on, due to excessive amount of airflow. he also said his shop bike with just the hindle exhaust runs alot better then my current setup. anyone else have a problem with to much airflow.... my dealer is awesome and they deff know what they are doing. Going back to stock at this point seems like a good idea as my spyder has been down for almost a month.

If you look at my signature her you see I have everything you have and then some and mine has never cut out like yours. But let us know what they find.

I to ran the Hindle--Juice Box and the Kewl Intake,, I could never get the setting on the Juice Box set so I therefore took off the Kewl Intake and the Juice Box,,,Still running the Hindel and thats it.. Runs much better for me, some of it is due to Lack of Knowledge on my part cause I'm just not set up for Performance Parts I guess.. I would post and ask for help and everybody helped but still after I made corrections it wouldn't run the way it should.. Also the Kewl Intake is WAY to Loud, the whole sounding like a rattle piece was getting the best of me along with the popping, hissy etc.. Anyway, have a Extra Intake and Juice Box if anyone is interested in buying, I'll lett'em go cheap for sure..

i been having similar problem. spyder hesitating or cutting off when i roll on throttle from standing still. it was lack of fuel. when you get more air in and air out you need more fuel.
i have race air flow, two bros with power commander and i been screwing around with power commander and was just running way way lean.
i burned more gas but performance was worse.
i got a good map from dynojet and it is running super and the symptom is gone.

doesn't juicebox have setting to add more fuel on lower end of rpm? and do get the o2 sensor from evo.
before i had power commander, i could not run race air system, and leo vince pipe without the o2 sensor without getting massive backfiring due to leaness.
dynojet's map had 8-15 % more fuel at the lower end. more fuel at 0% throttle was there to eliminate the back firing at decel.
