    Default valve shim diameter

    Hello,

    can anybody inform me about the DIAMETER of the VALVE SHIMS of the spyder 2008

    10mm I'm pretty sure. Same as a vrod.

    Could it be 9.5 mm (or 7.5 mm). These dimensions are available for japanese motorcycles

    In case you're wondering, Hot Cams doesn't make sets of 10mm shims.

    Shimmed @ 42 K with VRod 10 mm.

    Might work, depending on your needs. Stock shims range from 2.30 mm to 3.05 mm in .025 increments, though, rather than the 1.85mm to 3.20mm in .05mm increments of this kit, so you will have extras you would never use, and might not have the intermediate sizes you need. There are also only three of each shim...and you could end up needing four of the same (although the odds are against that).

    You're right about the .002" (.05mm) increments but that should still get em all within spec when I get round to doing it at some future point. Same issue with my C14 but 9.48mm diam. No kits I've seem have .001" increments, only OEM single shims.
