After Vietnam and the Navy, was a pressman at the Hartford Courant. Left to go to CT Printers for color work, until they were about to fold. Opened a detailing business after walking out of Ziebart. Than found a job as a courier with no boss watching over my shoulder, until they added phones to all vehicles. When it rang, I would say Information? Name and City please. Developed gallstones, wasn't able to work until after surgery and last day was Jan 17, 1998. Resigned in June 1998, moved to FL in 2001 and after a year of on the job training became a Beach Bum. Added boat and now bum to the list. Best jobs I could ever want for goofing off.

I've been an Electrical Engineer for around 30 years, for 2 small companies, working primarily in unusual DOD applications - lasers and electro-optics, robotics and soldier weapon (manned and unmanned) sensors and systems.
The last 3 years I've been consulting - so my time is my own now, and I'm loving it.
Scotty: Good friend just retired as senior engineer in charge of San Diego wastewater treatment, and the jokes aren't allowed with her!
BTW, the first computer class I took at UCSD was COBOL (way back in 0b011110110111) and we used punch cards on an IBM 360 - graduated to floppies, Fortran and Pascal soon thereafter... but man, punch cards were fun - just don't DROP EM!
