Spyders in the Smokies 2010?
Have they set the dates yet?
-
The date they said at last years was the week of Sept. 20th, the week I can,t attend.
-
What town is it closest too? Would like to make the trip this year and probably check out the area?

Gatlinburg, TN

I am looking forward to it already.

Would be cool to go again but gotta see what the summer brings - schedules, work and stuff.

Next time we go to that area we're going to stay on the Carolina side. Gatlinburg isn't very user friendly. Maybe Cherokee or Maggie Valley.

I thought Gatlinburg was a great little town, but I did see parking a problem. However Pigeon Forge was a traffic nightmare and a tourist trap. I think Ashville is a little to far away if most of the events are in Gatlinburg. Stayed in Pigeon Forge Aug of 08 and drove to Ashville for my nephews wedding and I remember it being close to 2 hours by toy hauler, stayed in Bat Cave, NC. Perhaps going through the mountains would have been quicker. Had a great time at the 09 ride and would love to be back this year, but wedding weekend before and oasis of the seas week after.

I agree...besides, it is the evening socializing that makes the week. I wouldn't want to miss that for anything!!

Had a cabin in Pigeon Forge last year and man what a traffic nightmare, took us 1 1/2 hours to go 3 city blocks, the Rod Run Show was on that week-end, now know the back roads so should be better this year. Going and try to get a place in Gattlinburg this year .

The Olde English Tudor Inn is closing as a bed and breakfast and will not be able to provide lodging for the next spyders in the smokies event... I am so sorry to report that Linda and I have no way of keeping the inn in this economy unless we make this change. I hope to always be somehow involved in this event and hope that you will all understand.
thank you
steve

AH Crapola! I'm still going to see if he has rooms for that far out.. maybe spring will bring a change. The Tudor Inn was Spyders in The Smokies best kept secret in my opinion. It needed some updating, but was very clean, private and Steve as well his family were superb hosts. It was also up on the hill off the main drag in Gatlinburg and had a long private drive... Secluded.
Bummer.

I would love to see the date set for August.

Spyder #1 - 2008 GS SM5 Premier Edition #1977. RIP after 80,000 miles.
Spyder #2 - 2012 RT SM5. Traded in after 24,000 miles.
Spyder #3 - 2015 F3 SM6. Put 13,000 miles on and sold it.
Spyder #4 - 2017 F3 SM6. Too good of a deal to pass up!
-
I agree that the Redroof Inn was a good location. Had to park the cage and trailer down the street, but it was nice to be in walking distance to restaurants and bars. Looking forward to another great week there.

You live in Nashville and you trailered your Spyder to this event?

I know, it's sad; but, I saw the forecast of rain all week, and was thankful for the trailer while following Janice back to Nashville Saturday in the storms, especially since my spyder was running like crap after the first update.
