Actually mine is an older, simpler model, but several of the FirstGear jackets have this feature. Hard to find a bladder to fit the long, skinny slot, if you don't buy theirs separately, though.

I have had cup holders on my Goldwings no big deal to come to a stop take a drink, and tear down the road.

Now since the Spyder is so much different, I thought, I would, maybe, add a small blender, maybe a small ice maker, so by the time I get to my destination I could have margaritas ready, or maybe long island ice-teas.

How about smoothies?

A sandwich holder would be nice, or a burrito or taco holder.

A pizza server, something that can keep the pizza hot while traveling, yet easy access for snacking on the road.

How about a whole hog smoker, one that uses engine heat to cook a whole pig while riding all day. what about a meat slicer?

Boy those handle bars are beginning to get a little busy.

Well it's just a thought & I am bored.

This thread jogged my memory.

I was a boy riding to work with my father, who was driving our '64 Chevy.

His arm was in a sling due to bursitis.

The car had a three on the tree manual tranny.

It was his right arm in the sling.

He smoked a pipe. He would clutch, reach over with his left hand and shift, holding the wheel with two fingers of the bad arm, lift the bad arm to hold the pipe, press his right knee against the wheel, use his left hand to light his lighter and the pipe with his head bent down to reach the pipe held in his bad arm, put out the lighter, then shift again.

This was driving in Manhattan.

He was blind in one eye.



(When I rode with him I never thought anything strange about it.)

This is the man who taught me to drive.

(Of course, there were no cell phones or GPS systems--or cupholders--back then. I don't know what he would've done if he had 'em...)

My cupholder is mounted on my right handle bar grip.Not a problem for me just take a quick sip during a red light or stop signs.I was born only with my left arm so I don't need the right grip. carousel1958

I dunno but, all my bikes have cup holders, and cruise control....On my windshield bikes you can catch me leaning back, a drink in one hand, and a camera in the other...is that wrong??? I put the camera strap on my wrist so I can drop the camera and grab the bars whenever needed!

I take sips from water bottles or sodas with a straw all the time while riding. I love my cup holders!

I will be designing one for the RT for sure.

I guess you can't steer by leaning on a Spyder!

I agree with Nancy's Toy.

I mean ... I felt like saying, "Well, I need to get a cup holder and a fold-down tray so I can eat lunch with a frosty beverage while I'm ryding up to Lake Placid this summer; and on those long straightaways ... it's kinda boring; so perhaps if I remove my GPS (assuming I know where I'm going anyway), I can mount a small LCD screen and pump a DVD in from my frunk so I can watch movies, listening over Bluetooth; while drinking, dining ... and even relax with a cigarette afterwords!

Seriously, I find CamelPaks great for hot-weather hydration on any bike. On the RT one can tuck a water bottle between the backrest cushion and the passenger seat. Cokes and coffee just dehydrate a person.

2011 white RT moved the GPS where it should have been in the first place, and mounted a cup holder where it should be IMHO sorry i don't know how to show youall a pic you will have to wait till CUBA, LOL

They fit the handlebars or the passenger handles! I will make sure I have them mounted for the trip From San Diego to Spyderfest!

Growing up, we had old John Deere tractors with a hand clutch. Really was pretty interesting to steer, work hydraulics, clutch, brakes and everything else. Dad put us on tractors when we were about nine. He would be in trouble with the law now, but that was just the way it was back then!! One thing about it, you learned fast,

OK, I must be pretty much an idiot. Could someone please explain the practical purpose of a cupholder on a motorcycle? Two hands on the handlebars makes for a need for a pretty long straw...and a real flexible one, at that. Then there's the difficulty of drinking with gloved hands and a faceshield. I have just never understood this one.

Well some of us need our coffee 24/7 and this makes it easy at stop signs, lights or other stopping points to be able to sip, gulp or otherwise drink.
