Default Does any Spyder have Autonomous Braking?

The Insurance on my 2014 RTS-SE6 came due for renewal today, and for the first time ever, I was asked if it had autonomous braking. Heck, I don’t even know what autonomous braking is, so I asked. I was told that it was braking that would automatically be applied if I got too close to the vehicle ahead, and that my Spyder may have it. I told them that no, my Spyder was not equipped with that, but got me to wondering if the new 2023’s my come with that, hence my question...DOES ANY MODEL OF CAN-AM COME WITH THAT AUTOMATICALLY?

Not as far as I've seen &/or heard.... it'd most likely require a significantly upgraded level of cruise control & radar sensors that I don't believe any Spyders have yet. Certainly didn't on the ride on one of the new 2023 RT Ltd's that I took yesterday! But maybe that's just here in Oz??

My 2023 RT limited does not have autonomous braking. Nothing is mentioned in the owners manual either. Only braking occurs is when I mash the brake pedal.

Don't even speak these words again, someone may get an idea in their heads to try it out and then we will have another tool that is smarter than we are and make dissections for us. When I go down the road and see someone on a spyder, hands off the bars and shaving their face in the mirror, I am done!!!

Its must be the Zen bit of riding on these Spyders.

    - that state of no mind
    - see something and you react without thought
    - you just do it
    - the void...or the scroll of emptiness in action....

Avoiding a collision without thought is one example.
Ever been riding and you see something ahead that needs you to do something other than what your currently doing, and without a thought process you just get it done?

You dont think for instance, crikey look at that, ok thats not good, sit up a bit, check mirrors, lean right a bit, slow a little here, lean left and accelerate.

As discussed in the Book of Five Rings by Miyamoto MUSASHI for a bit of light reading.

That is a function of adaptive cruise control which a lot of newer cars have, but have never heard of it on a motorcycle.

I’m now wondering if since I was specifically asked by my Insurance Company and not my Insurance Broker, that perhaps this is something that BRP is strongly looking at for future Spyders (as in the next year or two). Who knows.....

Adaptive cruise would be nice, I'm spoiled. But emergency braking - no way. If your car hits the brakes when you don't expect it you are already strapped in and in a lot safer place than on two or three wheels. First time someone gets thrown off will be the first of many lawsuits.

Otherwise known as a collision avoidance system. I think it would be a good thing to have but sure hope it would be more temperate than the one in my 2016 Maxima.

I remember seeing a recent review on a new BMW 1800, bagger I think, that had adaptive cruise.

Our Subaru Legacy has adaptive cruise and I think it's the cat's ass. I love it.

We have some of that stuff on the new Altima. I opted out on the self driving stuff. Have not had to test the "auto stop" stuff yet. I do like the lane change/blindspot warnings. A couple times I did not see anything in the blind spot and the light and beeper went on. Yup, there was a car there.

Yeah, that was my thought also. Without a seatbelt, adaptive braking could become an exciting concept. Oops, I really didn't need it, and I
found myself sitting on the pavement on my butt in the center lane of a busy freeway during rush hour. Without advanced teleportation as an added feature, I don't think I'd want adaptive braking.

I love the adaptive cruise and the lane departure warning but have turned off the lane assist. Don't like it at all. Hopefully I never need the auto stop.

I don't think any of the Spyders or Rykers are equipped with the radar systems needed for either adaptive cruise or autonomous braking, mine certainly doesn't and it wasn't an option. Neither do they have blindspot avoidance systems. They do have linked braking and ABS coupled with a stability control system though.
