There again, I'da thought that it was just as clear that you should 'Never butt horns with a reindeer!' 
Could be that when he started the bike up, the exhaust sounded something like a buck in rut; so the antlered buck got all stroppy at that cheeky but odd looking handle-barred buck sounding off at his does??
