Is the Cherohala Skyway open yet? (Sept '23) Temp or Finished? Any gravel?

Has anyone heard if the Skyway is open yet? Is it a temp fix or finished? Is there any gravel on the fix?

Right now it is stated that it should be open 9/22. They have cleared the rock slide and done most (if not all) of the paving.

On their Facebook page yesterday they posted that it is now open all the way to Tellico.

Open and no gravel, all good roads. We were there Sunday.

That is perfect timing for seeing the leaf color changes in about 2-3 weeks. We will be there next week for the spyder rally in Maggie Valley. I just wish the road that leads to the falls was back open. I hear it will be closed while the repave and install a new bridge.

Leaving for Maggie Valley on Sunday via Cherhola Skyway from Wisconsin…….hoping for a pleasant ride.
