So here is the question.... for roughly $10k would you choose and why.
A. New or Fairly New Ryker 900/Sport/Rally
or
B. Spyder F3, Probably a 2015 or 2016 F3/F3s with 10-20k miles
Context - I had a 2019 Ryker Rally and sold it to upgrade to a Spyder, but some financial things have changed for me AND I can't find a Spyder for under 12k that isn't beat up. So I am considering a Ryker 900 with Cruise Control as I am hoping that will help solve some of the issues I had with my Ryker before - most notably highway riding at 65-70+ mph for extended periods...

Without a doubt, I would go with the spyder. You should easily find a F3 or F3S for close to the $10k price point. Hard to find a F3L or even a F3T for that price, but it is possible. Hate to say it, but I would even go for a RSS over the ryker.

Why would you choose an RSS over a Ryker? Most dealers won't work on the RSS anymore, and I Personally don't like the seating position of the legs/feet...

Keep in mind, that is only my preference. I owned a 2012 RSS and I loved it. It felt stable and gave me that semi sporting riding that I desired. But the only issue that I had is that mine gave off a bit too much heat. And around here, it is easier to find mechanics to work on an older model than in some areas. When I rode the Ryder, it just felt too small and more cheaply made. Not that I would not like to have one to tool around on. But being a bigger guy, it just doesn't fit me. Here is my RSS from back in the day. Plus I know someone local who has a heck of a deal on a RSS.

This is only my opinion.... and you know about opinions... the Ryker is more or less a beginner bike.
when trying to compare it to an F3 there is no comparison; the F3 is a much more powerful machine,
I feel it is much better handling. Save up and get the F3!

Back in 2019 I found myself faced with the same choice. A new Ryker Rally or a used Spyder F3S. I ended up snagging a 2015 F3S with 5k miles on it. The Ryker is a great fun ride but the F3S was going to be much more comfortable for my 5k+ mile trips I find myself doing. Earlier this year it was around 6,300 miles in 10 days. So it really very much depends on your plans. Around town, short day adventures - nothing wrong with the Ryker - cross country big trips - you'll be much happier with the Spyder.
Any F3 '15-'17 (older dash); miles not as important if well maintained. Rykers, not bad & not much compared to full sized - fully-equipped. (Saddle fits better too)

I've talked to the dealer who has the 2020 on consignment, but I just have a hard time buying it and then having it shipped, all without seeing it in person.
WRT to 2020 I biased -- I really like its looks very suave and debonair and seems well cared for without the tackiness of the 2015. I looked at flight costs and Frontier seems cheap enough to take a chance on flying out, test ride and if you don't buy then you're only out maybe $400. And if you do buy it then it's four days ride home. Wash your stuff in the motel sink and stay away from spicy food. Or spend an extra day in CO to get a full service to eliminate any concerns for long trip. And yeah my 2014 is Black too.

Having ridden both, I choose the Spyder. I agree with the folks who say that after riding a Spyder, a Ryker feels like you left half your motorcycle at home.

I am not going to be a buyer for that.. too many miles for me.. BUT would you all really rather have a spyder with 77k miles on it than a new Ryker? I get preferring a spyder but one with that high of mileage?
thats NOT high mileage for your budget or even that model of year. these 1330 triples can easily go more than 200K. Do you want a Ryker that is HIGH rev's at interstate speeds? I would buy THAT F3 with the information that you present. Much easier to ride with passenger on F3 than Ryker anytime. You get more HP, smoother ride with F3........ AND you won't be losing money when you first buy a Ryker and WANT an F3
