Just replaced my Original Yuasa Battery with another after 7 years!
I just replaced my original Yuasa battery with another Yuasa after 7 years with no leakage at all. I'm happy to use the same type of battery, 7 years is OK in my book. I looked into Lithium batteries and couldn't see the point of paying more to save a few pounds. As long as the battery turns the crankshaft over OK and doesn't leak, I'm happy.

This should be a lesson to all who re-place their battery because they think they only last 3-4 yrs. ..... Battery maintenance is important ...... Thanks .... mike

Even though I get about the same life out of all my batteries, my plan is to replace the battery every 3 years. The Spyder is very picky about voltage and I prefer not to take a chance while out enjoying a cruise. I can continue to use the older battery in something else - so no loss. I too, am very picky about battery maintenance.

I replaced my battery in my 2017 F3 Limited earlier this year. I wasn't having any problems but just thought that 6 or 7 years was a good run for a battery. I did replace it with a Yuasa.

You did well with that Battery ..... Knowing WHEN a Battery is going to fail is problematic at best .... I'm no tree hugger, however disposal of batteries can cause problems in other ways ... I have said in the past, get a small Lithium battery jumper device ( $35 to $50+ ) If your spyder battery can't or won't start your Spyder use the jumper, and decide about the Battery in the comfort of your house ..... JMHJO .... good luck .... Mike

If you wish you can fit an inexpensive voltmeter and with that you can monitor the charging system rates. If something begins to fail you get a heads up all is not well.
I have 1 on all my vehicles.

I put one on mine. It consistently reads 13.7, but it reads .5 volts low so it really is 14.2 volts.

Isopedella, where did you get that voltmeter and is it moisture proof?

Said to be waterproof. So far so good.
From memory I got 1/2 a dozen or so from the E bay or AliExpress a few years ago.
Cost was similar to a couple of cups decent cup of coffee or so. Nobrainer I reckon.
I use some sticky back Velcro to mount em .

A battery tender isn't for just cold weather. It's to keep a battery fully charged whenever it sits unused for an extended time period. Also, hot weather will kill a battery quicker than does cold weather.
