Default Are you a Sea-Foam User?

I'm wondering if any of you Ryker Riders add Sea-Foam, or the like, to you fuel tank on a once in a while occasion, as a preventative maintenance/performance booster. If you do how often?

Not Sea Foam but Berrymans B-12; its cheaper. I run a batch through on the last tank before an oil change.

My in-laws have a Ryker and I suggested they run 1oz per gallon in the Spring. (or anytime you get a tank of bad gas) I do this to all my small engines and auto engines during Spring tune-up time.

I use it in all the carbon-based fuel vehicles and tools I own.
I know it's snake oil, but it has cleaned up more than one engine, mine and friends' who became believers after trying it.
I add, I dunno, 4 fluid ounces (118 cc) roughly every third fill. I fill the tank when it's no lower than 1/4 left on the gauge.
Lawnmower get some with every fill.

I use it in my oil just before a change and find great results but I found it harsh in the fuel (only my opinion)

I add it to the fuel just before filling up and putting the trike away for the season. It seems to help preserve the fuel when the trike sits for 3 or 4 months. One thing to note.... It is not the best product for cleaning injectors if you encounter that problem. Sea Foam does not contain P.E.A. which is considered a superior injector cleaner.....

There are several good fuel additives out there, and some that are not so good. SeaFoam is one of the ones we use. We also use Berriman B-12 and a few others, depending on what we are trying to accomplish.

Ethanol free primarily & occasionally maybe (maybe colder weather)something else depending what’s on hand -Star Tron, Berryman. Stabil marine for mower & small engines hibernation. & only before filling whatever tank (so gets mixed in proper) FFF7D1EE-F70D-4339-8C1E-190538A56431.jpg

Methylated spirits if I suspect water in the fuel.

wouldn't use anything else. With the crappy gas out there these days and including the non-ethanol gas I always put in my 22 RTL here at home, I put Sea Foam in the tank every 3-4 tank full, and I always try to run my bike until it is on fumes unless I am on a trip.

Stabil only on the last fill before putting away for the winter. Never have a need for additives any other time.

I use Seafoam 2x a year. At winter storage, and again before a mid season long distance trip.

    SeaFoam MSDS is a mystery.
Less than 95% blend of hydrocarbons with no CAS number.
    Less than 25% isopropanol.
Rumor always was it was pale oil with alcohol mixed in.
Hard pass for me, nothing in there of any benefit for the 7.00 can.

This YouTuber (Project Farm) has tried some interesting experiments with Seafoam. This one is from a few years back and he has a series of different videos specifically on the Seafoam product. He does all kinds of product comparison videos and certainly appears to be completely unbiased when doing his testing scenarios.

Interesting video. Reminded me that back in the 60s there was a product named Carb-Out. It was dumped down the carburetor while the engine was running at a fast idle. Then left to sit for a period of time with the engine off. After restarting and driving around the neighborhood it produced a BIG cloud of white smoke for a few miles.

Great, now you me bringing back memories of using Marvel Mystery Oil. I remember using it on older engines to clean out sludge but it has a bunch of other supposed uses.

A guy I knew poured automatic transmission fluid down the carb, almost to the point of choking the engine. Significant smoke!

I fill up the bike with non-ethanol fuel at end of season and add Seafoam to the tank.
