I am 6'2" and have the BRP Blue Ridge and at lower speeds it's ok for keeping the bug strikes off of the chest but higher speeds it feels like the wind wants to pull my head off and it directs almost every bug straight to my visor.
I usually have to duck in a little bit in order to keep the buffeting down so I was thinking of just dumping the windshield all together and go for a gauge spoiler.
Good to know. You are a couple of inches taller than me. The gauge spoiler seems to work ok, for as small as it is. So far, I really don't have any annoying buffeting, but I do get some bugs on my helmets face shield. I sure like the looks of the 129 though.

I like the F4 also, but without seeing one in person I just can't get a good idea how I'd like it. F4 says they have a 25" for the F3S. That might work. I'm just not a fan of a big shield. The other thing is, how much stuff I'd have to take off and put back on the bike to go back to the gauge spoiler if I wanted to, and knowing how I operate that would no doubt happen. Nothings perfect.

Dasmoe, just for interest, here’s a photo of the 24” Madstad on my F3-L (I imagine the 32” Madstad/F4 would run about the same overall height on your F3. Different setup to yours, but it shows the shape. It’s a large shield, but I’m a large body.
Also, a photo of the F4 25” overlaying the Madstad 24” on my ‘20 RT. The taller, wider one is the F4 ...once again, just for info.

Have had both the gauge spoiler and now the Route 129 on my Daytona. Have yet to switch back to the spoiler. And, in the next month or so, will be striking out on a 2,500+ mile week-long trip with the Route 129 fastened. So far am content with the Route 129. A better review I wrote up of these two is here: https://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/...light=BCNewell
Windscreen on my wife’s F3-S works well, but is huge and looks like somebody fastened a kite to the frunk!!! Not for me ...

I like it. I decided on the Route 129 myself. I like the low profile of it, and it's probably all the shield I really need.

Thank you to all who helped me along with my decision making. Every one of the shields mentioned here have their own unique attributes. I actually liked all of them. In the end I went with my normal likes. Minimalistic as possible. I hope it does what I expect it to do. If it doesn't, I'll live with it. Thanks again.
Cheers!

Not “everybody” says that, Gwolf. Try riding at speed at 6’7” and 300lbs without a windshield for a while. Aaaaaaaarrrrrggggghhhhh.
Pete
I know what you mean there! I was out for a ride one day and the dog bone broke on my adjustment arm, the shield fell back into my arms, I got off the bike and came up with a safe way to get it home but it was tilted back in such a way that it was like having NO shield at all. WOW, I use to ride with no windshield, sleds and bikes, but I guess I am getting soft in my old age! That's when I found out about a man called Noboots, and that was a get thing!!!

Yeah, I was the same early on re no shields, Mikey……then I became “less tolerant” (read…..older). I still have a very short screen I put on if I know I am not heading out for hours of riding, but anything over a hour or so these days, the F4 25” comes out

I just got my new windshield installed this morning so I can try it out tomorrow on our morning ride. I got "Show Chrome Clear Turing Windshield" from SlingMods. It looked huge out of the box but once installed it looks really good.

Impressions on 1st ride with new Route 129 shield. I didn't like it. I traveled on city roads, and hwy, and there's a lot of noise in the helmet. The wind is hitting me in the chinguard & up on my fullface helmet . No abnormal buffeting. At 55 mph and up , I can barely even hear the exhaust due to wind noise. I also hit some light crosswinds, and the shield acted like a sail, and moved me around in my lane. Didn't like that at all. There is some extra heat in rhe cockpit. It does however protect the lower body quite well, and the shield looks really nice on the bike. I'm going to give it a few more days of testing, but it's probably coming off.
It's actually amazing how well the stock Gauge Spoiler works to break up the wind. With it, there was very little noise, and no buffeting. It doesn't however give you any protection. Live and learn I reckon. I'm not interested In a taller or larger screen either. Don't like the looks of them on an F3s. I'll probably use the 129 for Winter only.

I gave it another try today, and my initial reaction might have been a tad harsh. There is wind noise because it's hitting my helmet from the lower edge of the helmets chinguard and up over the top. No abnormal buffeting, even at 95 mph. My Brother reminded me to try earplugs. That in itself will fix the noise. I have a HJC I 90 modular helmet, and I'm not sure what type of noise rating it has, but it definitely contributes to the noise. I feel for such a small shield it protects pretty well. So I'm leaving it on for further testing. I think it may grow on me. I did notice the front of the bike squirm around a bit at hwy speeds when hit by a good cross breeze. The front-end seems to get lighter. Never experienced that on a bike that had a windshield before. Didn't do that at all with the gauge spoiler.

Nobody had mentioned the Route 129 windshield from BRP. How does it compare to the F4 or Madstad?
I was just about to mention it! I have one on my F3S and it is perfect for me... I too wanted to keep mine low profile but am dealing with long lasting injuries that necessitated a change... I was a 2 wheel guy and love more air than not and the 129 gives me that plus enough protection that my injuries don't scream at me constantly... 20181207_112227_1544230930396.jpg20181207_112405_1544230911361.jpg

When I had the 2017 F3 S Daytona I had two windshields. One for around town and one for longer trips. Both were BRP so all I had to do was change our the shield and use the same hardware.
I'm warming up to the Route 129. I think it's a keeper. I totally enjoy the protection it provides, and IMHO it's the best looking shield for the F3S.

Just installed my 129 yesterday and took it for a spin today. I agree, the lines fit the F3S perfectly. I was against adding a shield, but I began to notice tightness in my back and shoulders even though I try to relax when riding. After just 25-30 miles today, I can tell that this will make a big difference. I give it
