Default F3 revs its date out on startup - any way to settle it down?

    Hi all,
just wondering what causes the F3 to rev so high on starting? My RT is smooth, with minimal rpm increase... it can't be good for the engine, revving up with no oil pressure..... Is there any way to settle it down? Or is it a function of the ECU? TIA... Russ

Hi Russ, I guess at its simplest, it IS a function of the ECU, because it's what controls the engine running parameters etc.

That said, if it's revving anything much over about 1500 rpm or thereabouts, then the ECU is probably getting a dodgy signal from one or more of the sensors, or there's an air leak somewhere that's causing the sensors to tell the ECU the engine's running leaner than it actually is, so the ECU pumps in more fuel to richen the charge air mix up a little.... or maybe a lottle!! Only cos the engine isn't really running that lean, it revs higher/harder on the fatter fuel supply!
