Default Anyone had any Radio Interference? What fixed it?

    HI Everyone,

Has anyone had any radio interference on their F3T Spyders?

If so, what have they done to correct the radio interference?

Check under the rear seat area. Follow the small antenna wire from the antenna forward. I've seen a couple F3's where the rear seat rubber contact pads were crushing the antenna wire due to poor routing of the wire.

    Jetfixer,

I'll take a look under the seat.

    Thanks for your advice.

Pretty much all Spyder radios have signal acquisition issue's.... Make sure you remove all or as much of the LockTite as you can .... also make sure the radio has a good Ground connection ..... Mike

I put a longer antenna on mine; it helped some.

I believe the root of the problem (at least on the 2020 & newer models) to be that the antenna wire is no longer shielded, thus making it more susceptible to interference. In many cases, auto-makers included, the old "coaxial type" cable has been ditched because it's stiff, cumbersome and difficult to wind through the vehicle. It's also more expensive than a length of plain copper wire, so eliminating it saves the manufacturer $. (BTW - I'm thinking it's why there's no AM on my 2020 RTL, and some auto manufacturers are trying to eliminate it)

The next time I have my 2020 that far apart, I'm gonna change the whole cable & see what happens.

2020 Spyder RT Limited; Deep Marsala/Chrome

Formosa AZ01 165/50/R16's on PPA Recluse wheels up front
General Altimax RT43 215/60/R15 on factory rear

Primary exhaust: RLS Cat delete w/ his baffle; secondary, custom built w/ Flowmaster HS2
Suspension: BajaRon swaybar (highly recommended!), M2 coil-overs, front & rear (also highly recomended!)
Extra LED lighting and misc. to suit my needs/wants

I fixed mine by never turning the Radio on. Never seen the need or want for one on any Motorcycle type vehicle.
