It has - initially, it was just a Day of Remembrance for the ANZACS, then expanded to include all those who fell in WW1, but over more recent years it has become very much a Commemoration of the Sacrifices made by ALL who Served Our Countries both at home & abroad, and especially those who have fallen.

What is most significant, Pete, is that the Turks also recognise Anzac Day, in a big way, at Anzac Cove in Turkey where the bloodbath took place in 1915. It is a huge memorial service, with attendees from all over the world. The Turks and Anzac troops opposing each other also had much respect for each other, with wounded from both sides being treated in the closest hospital area regardless of their home country………and that respect is reflected to this day.
