Inflation from money printing is real world 15-20%. Interest rates need to exceed that to stop it. Mathematical impossibility to repay the debt.Dollar is toast. A wheelbarrow of the stuff won't buy you a tank of fuel soon.60k will seem like a bargain.Man the lifeboats.

I rode Yamaha's for years because Harley's are just expensive. Enjoyed pulling or parking next to an HD knowing I paid less than 1/2 the price and still got just as good of ride.

For $50,000 bucks you could have the finest Spyder they sell, in any configuration you want, and have it fully customized, with professional air-brush art, blower, custom exhausts, or just about anything you can imagine. It would be one of a kind.
It would get far more attention than a CVO, because the general public has no clue about motorcycle models, or even brands. Most of the general public can't tell one model from another, if there is not a sticker or name plate on it.

My dad bought our 1st house in 1955 for about $10,000. This house right here (2023 version which is essentially unchanged except for cosmetics)
1320 Square Feet single family home is a 3 beds, 2 baths property. We were a family of 5 kids and 2 parents in this house. Never seemed crowded or cramped to me. Things were smaller in those days. Had a huge back yard compared to homes these days. Parents threw us out of the house in the morning and we were allowed to come back in for lunch and dinner. No cell phones or video games. We played outside all day long, and happily so. These days it's hard to get a young person to go outside unless they are in a car.
Sold for $395,000 in 2016. Current market value, according to Redfin, $675,000. In reality, it's not worth any more today than it was in 1955. The difference is, your dollar is worthless. We have done it to ourselves. We continue to elect politicians that promise us the moon. And we never think about the cost. But don't worry. Compared to the future they have planned for us. We will be calling what we have now, 'The Good Old Days'.

Wait until your spyder is 15 years old and you try and source parts, you can still source parts for 100 year old Harleys, yes they are far and few between but you can find them.

People that buy Harleys fall under 4 category's.
1- the yahoos and zipper heads, these are the ones wheeling doing burnouts and bar hopping, these bikes come up for sale 3-5 years old with 2-5 thousand actual mileage but with 150K miles of abuse.
2- The I have to have a Harley owner. the ones that go out for an occasional ride buy all the new shiny leather jacket and boots/gloves and ends up selling the super low mileage bike in under 7 years taking a loss because he financed it for 96 months.
3- The biker. this is the one that embraces the biker life style rides ten thousand plus miles a year no matter the geographical location of where he lives. He / She will go out of their way to go to a motorcycle event they will sleep under a park bench in a rest area on the interstate when they get tired of riding/bail you out of jail/drive 300 miles to pick you up when broken down/ spend a weekend wrenching on your scooter. (yes we call them scooters).
If it were not for my wife having a stroke I would be on a new Harley CVO Road Glide. MY heart will always be with Harley Davidson.
4- the collector. The person that thinks he's going to double or triple his investment in 10-20 years only to realize it's only worth what some other idiot is willing to pay for it.
It's a motorcycle people ride the damn things.
Last but not least wave don't wave I don't care, me 99.9% of the time I'm focused on the road in front of me and that's far more important than waving at some idiot going to opposite direction.

Meanwhile was wondering if the price of the CVO is important to any that purchase them. I think not, sure it would register with them but probably way down the list of concerns. Same thought process we all have when contemplating the latest Spyder farkle but smaller scale?
I love Harleys, own a V Rod, paid up big time for it 15 years ago and thought at the time whatever the cost this was a forever bike for me.Yearly cost average insurance, registration, maintenance will far exceed the purchase price so a non argument to me hence my post about inflation (being a glaring omission} in the debate.
The video producer Ridge Roamer did mention ''I get inflation'' at the start but then trailed off into the typical Harley bash and government and corporate fee bleating, then ended up justifying everything with a ridiculous price comparison to an old Goldwing.
Totally senseless video about a totally senseless subject.
I can buy unknown quality eggs off a roadside stall for 5 bucks a dozen, 8 at the supermarket for inbred spheres, 12 for free range certified at a specialist farm but don't go making dopey videos about it.
The CVO Road Glide I was going to buy was 62K out the door, price was a mute point.

I thought about buying a Harley trike but they're expensive. But looking more into them as I got more serious, I found they don't ride that well, among other things I didn't care for. With that trike, you had to fight the steering, corners and take turns really slow as they easily tip over. With my RT, I get a much better ride and don't need to muscle the bike when I ride.

Exactly what I figured out in 2010 when I bought the Premier Edition #474 RT. I went to my HD dealer first. Cool looking bike. Then I climbed aboard. After the start up, I decided NOT to buy one. That was before they said "Oh by the way, there is a $4500.00 "administration fee" to be added to the final purchase price.
