Skiing is rapidly coming to end ....at least for me ...I don't like skiing in Slush .... this week temps will rise into mid 60's - 70's and maybe an 80 F

Happy Easter everyone! Today it will be 88 degrees here in the desert S.W. There is a 3 MPH breeze. Overnight low will be 61. There are no clouds in sight. Having a relaxing day. May spend a little time hanging out at the pool this afternoon. Stay safe..... Jim

....I enjoyed the time with some friends and family yesterday. We had some fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans and rolls. The weather was great for us and we were hoping for the warmer day. We had 66°F for Sunday.
Currently it is clear sky and 41°F.

High today of 69°F, with sunshine and blue skies.
Low at 41°F and no rain in the forecast.

Hi Mike I hadn't heard you were skiing this year. Last weekend of skiing will be this coming weekend, unless the resorts apply for an extention. Since all the ski resorts are on watershed land they have ro be off it by April 15th or justify an extension. Today it is predicted 70° here in the valley. All our snow is gone down here,now prepareing for flooding and hoping for a slow melt. This will be a Spyder work day.

The current temp is 60 sunny.

Yesterday the weather was sunny nice.


The rest of this week the weather will be nice with lots of sunshine. And it will be even warmer than it was on Easter Sunday, when most of us got into the 50's for highs. Today( Monday) high temps will be in the 60's in most spots.

A weak cold front will kick up a few clouds later on Tuesday, with just a slight chance for a few showers. Other than that, we will have a great stretch of weather ahead of us for the rest of the week and into next weekend. It will also be warming up. Temps will be running well above normal for this time of the year. By the end of the week and into the weekend high temps in the 70's for most of us. There could be a few low 80's on Friday.


The stretch of nice spring weather will go into the start of next weekend. But finally, by late in the day on Sunday, there may be some showers with cooler weather coming in next week.


The only draw back with this nice dry, and sunny weather is the increasing threat of brush fires. With all of that sunshine, low humidity,and occasional breezy conditions this week, there is an increased risk for those brush fires.

They have issued a (MODERATE) fire Weather Watch from April 10th @ 2:23 pm to April 11, @ 8:00 PM Affected areas are: In New York, Champlain of New York. In Vermont, Champlain Valley of Vermont, Northern Taconics and Lower Connecticut Valley North.

Timing..... Late Tuesday Morning into Early Evening. Strongest Winds and Lowest Relative Humidity Values will occur between Noon and 5 Pm Tuesday.

Winds...... Southeast 15 to 25 MPH with Gusts up to 40MPH.

Relative Humidity..... 20 to 35 %

Temps in the Lower to Mid 60's.

96 for a high today here in the desert S.W. There is a 6 MPH breeze and the humidity is 7%. There are no clouds. Turned the air conditioner on for the first time this season about 1/2 hour ago. It's old, but not as old as me. But unlike me, it works!!!! Stay safe..... Jim

. ....Monday was a nice spring day, warm and lots of Sunshine. I was able to get out there and cut the grass.
Oh, the smell of fresh cut grass. Currently it is clear and 40°F. The weather people are saying, all week it should be
a sunny day. We had 74°F.for the high.

Today's high will be only 75°F, with sunshine. Low of 75 and no rain on the schedule.

Yes I did, but over the summer I developed pain in my right leg, if I stressed it even from just walking a short distance ..... my Doctors haven't figured out Why yet.... luckily my left leg is fine ... So I had already purchased a season pas ( which they refused to refund - before the season even began ) .... so I took a chance and tried to ski .... and surprisingly I could ..... HOWEVER, I was limited to very short trails. .... But Heck I could ski & skied into better shape .... but not like last year or the year before ..... Now I think I'm done, because skiing in slush takes a lot more energy than I have ..... thanks for asking .... Mike

Well yesterday's weather was awesome. We had 79. Today is going to be about the same.
Currently we have clear skies and 54°F.
I got most of the grass cut.


Today high of 77°F with lots of sunshine.
Low of 48. Still no rain in our forecast.

Did Nemo rd to Deadwood and Spearfish instead of Iron Mountain rd. Different riding in 80 degree weather with 3 ft snowdrifts on the side of the road.

...I am still amazed that so many people have said that the weather is crazy. The weather news people have been saying that for years. They give us their best guess and then we try and be Happy.

This has been a very nice week for me and Indiana. I try to enjoy life and be patient with the weather. Day 3 of the 70+ days.

Today it's going to be 80°F with lots of sunshine.
Low of 52°F tonight. Nice camping weather.

Yesterday's sunshine made it very warm, 80°F.
Not a record.

Today we will have a cold wave coming from the north and it will give us some cooler temperatures. Currently we have overcast and 57°F.
High today only 78°F.
Low of 55°F.

It has cooled down from the record high temperatures we had here in the desert S.W. Currently it is 66 degrees and heading for a high of 76 today. The overnight low will be 56. There is an 8 MPH breeze. We have beautiful blue skies. It's an "open window and screen door" kinda day. Perfect. Stay safe..... Jim

We have had a couple bluebird days in the high 70's/low 80's. Very nice for porch sitting.

A weather alert day coming for tomorrow from 5:00 PM on. Time will tell.

...Today is the Last of the 80°F for a handful of days. Currently we have 75°F with sunshine and some clouds. You need to enjoy your Day off. I am retired and sitting outside is the real deal. So hopefully you can find some time to Ryde. I know that I'm going to have some 'wind therapy'.

..Well folks this morning it was cold and windy. Now we have some snow showers and currently have 36°F. Going to be a cold wave in Indiana till Wednesday.

Today's high will be 45°F with clouds.
Low at 33°F and cloudy.

No clouds today here in the desert S.W. The high will be 89 with an overnight low of 64. Very slight breeze of just a few MPH. Yesterday was a mirror image of our temperatures for today so I'm trying an experiment. Afterall, I have entirely way too much time to dream stuff up. The utility company I have has a web site where I get my power usage every day broken down hour by hour so I can track usage easily. I know it costs me 4 cents per hour for what I call static use. That is, refrigerator and things like TVs that always consume some power when not in use.

So, here's my experiment;

Yesterday I left the air conditioner off all day until 2 hours before going to bed. Then I turned it on to cool the house to 71 degrees. Turned the air off and went to bed. The house stayed at 71 degrees all night. I know exactly what it cost me to cool the house before going to bed.

Today I set the air to come on at 78 degrees. The air won't come on until later this afternoon because it's still at just 74 in the house. Tonight I will repeat the 71 degree setting at the same time I did last night. Tomorrow I will be able to compare costs of the two methods for getting the temperature down to 71 at bed time.

Just another crazy thing to do to keep me from becoming a normal person. Stay safe..... Jim

...Well yesterday was a wee bit cold for me, currently 33°F with some clouds. Going to warm up a little today, so that is a plus. We had some snow showers yesterday morning but nothing stuck on the ground.
There was off and on rain showers here in Indiana.

No rain in the forecast for today. Hopefully I will be able to get out there and cut some grass if the yard isn't to wet. We had a windy day and lots of tree branches came down.

Today's numbers are 60°F and 33°F. Lots of Sunshine and Blue Sky Day.
Get out there and enjoy some Ryde Time.

Cooling off just a wee bit here in the desert S.W. Todays high will be 86 and the overnight low will be 59. There are thin high clouds but nothing that the sun can't penetrate.

My great experiment described in my previous post #45 was, well, like kissing my sister. Unexciting! Temperatures for the 2 day experiment were 91/60 & 91/62. The power usage TIMES were a little different but at the end of the day, usage was EXACTLY the same for both days...... right down to the penny. On to the next wild hair-brained adventure! Stay safe..... Jim

Hey Jim, I enjoyed the challenge of the electric company's service. We had a similar experience with our local electric company. It was very informative and helpful. That's all I will say.

....Well yesterday's weather was awesome. Currently we have cloudy skies and 50°F. I was able to get some of my grass cut. Hopefully today I will finish with the grass.

The weather people are saying maybe some rain showers tonight or tomorrow. If I get my car washed I know it will rain. So I will wait on the car wash. ....

Today's high 79°F with some sunshine and clouds. Low of 57°F with some sunshine and possibly some rain showers later on tonight.
