Always concealed, never open carry. Either a small revolver in a Desantis Nemesis pocket holster in the right front pocket of my jeans or an OWB holster, appendix area. Drawing and using your gun while riding is more Hollywood than reality. You want to be able to stop, dismount and quickly access your firearm if seriously threatened and unable to just get away.

Definitely in church. Largest group of unprotected citizens around on Sunday morning. All with their back to the door. Hopefully your church has discussed security measures.

I use a Sneaky Pete Holster OWB. Left side as I am left handed. There is a free app called Legal Heat that lists any states that recognize where you can legally carry. Also I am a member of US Law Shield. They will provide a lawyer in any state if you need one if you used your pistol for self defense.

One of the pastors here conducted a survey one weekend. Asked how many members would be interested in joining him at the gun range. After observing them at the range, he allowed most of them to carry in church.

We attend a different church (but know that pastor). My son carries virtually all the time, I do occasionally. My son has talked to the deacons and pastor at church to ask their opinion on the matter. Their basic feeling is "as long as you are on our side, we don't mind. I have since had conversations with a few friends and found that they carry in church, too.

IF I were to carry at church, I would keep it to myself.

CONCEALED CARRY IS JUST THAT, CONCEALED. It's nobody's business but yours.

You also have a legal right to transport your firearms through other states, so long as they're unloaded and in a locked box with the ammo in a separate locked box.

Oh, and don't get caught in New Jersey with hollow points.

Let’s add to this discussion, do you carry with a round in the chamber or not?

I conceal carry when riding via a pocket holster in my front pants pocket. Those I’m with never know I’m carrying and I never open carry. I generally do not carry a hot gun but I wrestle with whether I’m making a mistake by not having a round chambered, would like you’re thoughts on this subject as well since we’re talking carrying while riding.

I don’t want to have to chamber a round if I need my firearm in an emergency situation.

With my 1911. it is always loaded, cocked and ready. Safety on of course. Everything else always has one in the chamber also.

    Everything is always concealed.

Carrying in other than Condition 1 limits the effectiveness of such carrying. And no one needs to know that you are carrying. Be the "gray man".

Back in the day when I was still on two wheel I was carrying my Glock, round in the chamber, and on my belt outside. Well, I laid the bike down on a curve and landed on that side. Fortunately, the gun and holster where fine, (underneath my leather jacket that was not fine.) But man, that gun pushed into my hip bone ad caused a big bruise. So I believe in the safety of handguns, but I do feel I need to rethink WHERE I carry.

    Talking Condition 1...........

    .

Condition one may not apply to me--------- laser sighted j-frame S&W, with shrouded and bobbed hammer. IWB Crossbreed holster ( total concealment). Carry often, but I know that every bullet has a lawyer attached to it. Most of condition 1 applies to semi-auto pistols.

    Pete, Never had to draw.

    CCW taught us:
    1. Have situational awareness.
    2. know where the exits are located.
    3. Leave area if at all possible.
    4. Be the first to call LE if you need to.
    5. Know the rules of gun safety and apply them at all times.
    6. Safely practice draw from concealment ( unloaded weapon with ammo in the safe).
    7. There is more..................

USAR pistol team for 2 years but that was a looooog time ago.

Currently I carry at 4 o'clock IWB but I'm going to purchase an Andrews leather Car Jacker holster for both my bike, and my truck. Much easier if I ever (God forbid) had to rely on it.

Bravo concealment OWB under a shirt or jacket. Always condition 1.

I'd rather have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. Just like jumper cables in your vehicle, you seldom need them.

Society is so screwed up right now, I don't know where you could assume you were safe and need not carry a weapon. I am an Elder of an old line conservative church and we have discussed multiple times the risk that some shooter might invade a Service and what we should do to protect the congregation. The consensus was to encourage those members that were qualified to safely carry to do so. In fact within the last five years a Medical Doctor was killed as he left Sunday services at his local Lutheran Church. Admittedly, he was performing abortions and the shooter was an enraged anti abortionist. I've become a member of the "I would prefer to be Judged by 12 than carried by 6 club" Because I am a practicing attorney I cannot carry in the Courthouse but otherwise I am always carrying and always when on my Spyder I carry with the weapon at SOS position and a round in the chamber.
