What Build and destination charge did you pay?
Good Morning All.
I have just come home from a Can-Am dealer and was asking about destination and build charge - they are wanting 2 Grand! What did you pay when you bought your Spyder?

Reason: Expanded title to briefly ask the question... ;-)

My local dealer wanted $2400 for delivery and prep charges. I opted to get a used 2021 for 9K less than a new one.

And if you are willing to pay that, I have some property I would like to sell you.
Those extra charges are all "fluff" for the dealer. Some want more than others. Another 2 grand on top of all the other stuff is way over the top, IMO.
I would suggest talking with I-motorsports. They used to deliver for free. I paid no delivery or set up charges. They even gave me a fair price on my trade. I have heard they are not as easy to deal with as back in 2020. But...they might be easier to deal with than the local dealer. PS...they still have BEST warranty for an extra three years for less than $700. See what your dealer wants for that?
Good luck with your hunt. Caveat Emptor.

Too much for me ...
I always buy my Spyders gently used ... I don't want to pay the extra fees.
$2k or more sounds excessive to me ... but I haven't purchased new

$750- And I barter for a percentage of merchandise, so I bought 2 helmets, mesh jacket, 2 pairs of gloves and saved $182-
Trust me the dealer did not lose one cent seeing there is most likely a 50% mark up on merchandise.

I don’t know about BRP, but in the car business the manufacturer pays the dealerships to perform any final prep or assembly on their products. So if a dealer is charging the customer, they are charging double. Freight is usually in the cost of the vehicle and the buyer pays.
Can’t imagine BRP supplying their dealers unassembled products and not paying for final assembly. But then again with everything I read about BRP on this forum, I wouldn’t be surprised.

I have both a 2020 Ace, and a 2021 S2S. The former in NW Ohio, and the latter in S Central Florida. I bought both used with low mileage and the 2021 cost the original owner over $1000. The 2020 was not charged those fees.

I bought my 22 RTL on Dec 3, 2022, and the dealer waived both charges.
