That is the simplest way to go except you have to change the trailer harness on the bike to 5 wire system. But in this case the OP wants to pull the trailer with both his 2014 and 2022 with totally different bike side harnesses installed! Did you happen to read the two old threads I linked to above? They give a good picture of the frustrations with the trailer and bike harnesses back in the 2010 to 2014 time frame. Wasn't pretty!

Thanks for the info but the 2022 is as it should be and I don't want to mess with that.
( that's above my skill set anyway lol )
I'd rather change the trailer to 4 pin
or look for a freedom trailer in new england
