2017 F3 Ltd LED Tail Light Replacement.
The light on my Ltd top-box has failed and I am looking to replace it.
I have checked and there is power going to the plug, so its the light.

e-bay points to this.
SPI Rear Tail Light Assembly w/ 6 LED Lights for Ski-Doo Replaces OEM# 520001143 which is the correct part number.

It looks right ( apart from the lens is darker on mine ) but im wondering if they have the brake light incorporated into that . Ski-do with brake lights?? When I do will it fit it says no. Thinking that may be the brake light bit.??
BTW the e-bay one landed here in NZ is 1/2 the price from a local one from the dealer, that they will have to order.
Cheers.

This is confusing because that is the correct part number for that light; but for a North America version of the bike. Reference parts catalog item #400, of drawing 10- Electrical System - Upper - T, LTD. I believe the easiest way to decide you are getting the right light assembly is to verify 3 wire configuration. If the light has only 2 wires; that's running light and ground. Three wire is running, brake, and ground. For a US customer, that part is US$96.99.

I can't be sure it ever worked when I got it 3rd hand. It has a plug attached from the loom and have checked with my test light and there is power to at least 1 of the terminals. Couldn't step on the brake at the same time. Presume 1 is the earth / tail and stop. Just ripped out and here is a photo.

So I just buttoned it all back up and thisarvo took it down for its WOF (Warrant Of Fitness) check. Documented check its fit to be driven on the road.
Passed just as it was.
He had a good look at all the other lights and the front end set up. Tyre's. Got me to rock the bars from side to side looking for any slop or movement.
Then got me to do a lap of the forecourt and hit the brakes. He was impressed how fast it stopped.
tick tick tick. All good for another year.

When I replaced my topbox light (so that it actually produced light) back in 2017, it cost about AU$160 from memory. Not sure why they sell it in Oz with that stupid black dummy light assembly, but at least they have the courtesy to have the wiring pre-installed.

Ah. Ta for that. I priced on at the dealer and it was $340 nz !. The only ones I can find surfing are the Ski Doo ones about $159 Kiwi delivered on the e-bay but I dont think they have the brake light in there.

Well it was doing my head in once I discovered that light was a useless bit of bling and not a high stop light.
So I have ordered one from the UK from that MartinTheVoyager bloke.
Nearest dealer wanted $350 nz and offered to order for for me.
Cost was 110 quid / $200 nz / $186 au delivered. Which is still nuts but what do you do?

So just to finish off should another Bloke go down this road.
Ordered from MartinTheVloger the end. Arrived in 9 days. Slovakia to New Zealand. Not bad.
Some snaps I took before and after.

All of this is very common for BRP.
They produce the same models all at once and then they throw in or better to say remove Country or Continent specifics according to regulations...
So it's cheaper for them to make one bike with all the wiring and just remove the light part and keep everything else in there.
Do you know there are still turnlight signal cables in F3 Limited and T models, even tho they stopped giving us turnlight signals in the mirrors in 2019??
Crazy
