Moving to NC: Test for License and Endorsement Transfer?
Hello North Carolina!
My wife and I are hoping to move to NC from NJ in the next few years and then hopefully (fingers-crossed) retire a year or so after.
I have read if moving to NC from another state that we would have to take the written test.
My question is this....does my 3-wheel endorsement from NJ transfer to NC?
Thank you!
Rob

I moved to North Carolina from New York. The only test was an eye test. Also my motorcycle endorsement transferred without any issue.

When you move to NC from up north, you are supposed to move first to FL and find it is to hot, so you then move to NC. We call 'em halfbacks. You should like it here.

otherwise be a vulgar brawl.

That is funny … I had an aunt do exactly that … she moved to FL from NYC for a few years after retirement and later relocated to NC.

I moved to NC about 6 years ago from Indiana. I had a motorcycle endorsement in IN and it transferred down here. No questions asked and no additional tests to take.

I moved to Raleigh from Manassas Va. to help my mom and my brother with their medical issues and lived at the southernmost tip of wake county by Old Stage road and Ten-Ten for about 10 years and moved to Md. in 2020 after my brother passed away.
I guess I did the opposite of most, wife wanted to move back to Md. to be closer to her family.

Thank you everyone for the replies!! I am hoping in the next couple of years my wife and I can move to NC. Will be having a meeting with our financial advisor about retirement so we will see!!
I also apologized that I originally posted this in the incorrect sub-forms. Chalk it up to being a newbie here still.
As far as where in NC we will be moving, not too sure. My daughter is going to college at University of Mount Olive. We don't have to move to that area but were thinking more of the central to eastern part of NC.
