Default Looking to Buy Spyder RT Auto Trans - any recommendations?

I have had a 2012 Spyder RT SE5 for 10 years and looking to purchase another. It had a 990 engine and I am wondering if I should stay with that size and buy another 2012-2013 or would it be recommended to get a 2014 or newer with the 1330 engine. Any ans all recommends are greatly appreciated. I am in South Carolina and wondering if might be suggested to look further and try to find a good way, economical to ship it.

    Thanks, John M aka HAPPYJOHN

Looking to purchase a Spyder RT SE Are there any here in this forum that I might find one? If not, what is the BEST place to find one? I had a 2012 with the 990 engine. Would if be recommended to get the 1330 engine?
I live in the southeast USA(South Carolina). Is there a good economical way to ship a Spyder if I find one outside of my area? Thanks!

If I was you I would be looking for a 2014 and up Spyder. It won't be long before parts for the older Spyders are going to be hard to find. The 1330 engine is so much better with less maintance plus you get an extra gear. I had a 2012 RTS and jumped to a 2015 RTS and now have a 2017 F3 Limited. I prefer the F3 over the RT's just by the feel more like a cruisier style of ride. A sponsor here, iMotorsports offer free shipping when you buy from them, so its worth looking there for your next Spyder. Good luck in your hunt.

Ex-Rocket gave you some good info. 2014 through 17/19 seem to be the choice of knowledgeable folks as being the models with the least amount of problems, with 14s possibly topping the list. Do an extensive search starting here and on Facebook and other spyder owners' sights on the web. There's a bunch of them. You just may find one right around the corner from where you live. In your search keep track of prices so you'll know what the market is. Don't pay based on accessories, go by year and model. Accessories are of little value unless you find something you really must have. Good luck and hope you catch a good buy.

Check out the for sale by owner forum here and FB Marketplace or other groups. You can most likely find something within your budget - good luck.

You might take a look at my ad. I have two F3L's for sale. One a 2019 and one a 2020. Both in perfect condition and at a very special price for just one more day. Both have the 1330 engine. A good way to go.
