Default What is the cover you need when you remove the top box?

I have a 2017 F3 Ltd with top box. Im thinking I may like the option of running it without the top box from time to time.

What is the cover called I need if I remove it. Then I guess where do I get one, part number?

    Cheers Iso in Kiwiland.

The top case 2017 F3 limited bolts into position unlike the newer 2020+ machines with the Linq system.
That being said what you need is the parts for the rear from an F3 T. It may take a bit more effort to change them out but could be achieved. Check the parts fiche for the F3T and the F3L to see the differences.

So I sorta went away from the removable trunk.

    Then I found a video.
To remove, few bolts and some plugs.
Does not seem too arduous at all.

So I guess I'm back in the hunt for that cover?!

Oh, here is where I got my info from.

I have a 2017 F3 Limited in white and ended up buying the cover, which only came in black. I actually don't mind the look. Ended up using plasti-dip on the windshield, so I have a bit of a white/black theme running :-) The part number is 708001786, and I paid $255.00 Cdn. Not the best pics but you can kinda see how it looks.

The cover is called a "Laundry Bag". There is no part number. You were issued one when you reported for basic training.

    Isopedella,

I have a 2023 F3 LTD Special Series, and I was thinking of doing the same thing to mine (removing the top case and replacing it with a plate). I am not going to be doing that.

I saw the u-tube video, and mine does not have the USB port in the top case at the bottom, all it has is the hole for one.

HAHA, Nope. Summer 1975 Waiouru Camp for Basic and then Specialist training. RNZIR.

Gave us the runaround and nothing is good enough for a while, then I learnt how to take these 4X4 trucks into places you wouldn't believe.

I seem to recall the wiring is there in the loom but not the plug. Or something similar.
If you wished you could pick up and retro fit a plug maybe?
I do use my trunk usb on longer trips charging for stuff along the way.

    Isopedella,

OK. Some time this spring I'll take a look.
At some point I'll install a plug.
I haven't used the usb in my trunk. I have a power plate on my handlebars that I use for charging my electronics.
