Default Digital Display fails at low temps - typical behavior, or get it looked at?

So my 18 F3L. I frequently ride it to work, 15 minute trip, and I will ride it as low as 18F.

Well, I have noticed that if the temps dip in the upper 20's, or lower, when I start the bike to go home, the display just has multiple colored lines, and just weird crap. As soon as I put it in the garage for say 15 minutes, I can go out and turn the key and it looks fine again.

Is this a typical behavior? Or should I have it looked at?
