Rear tire disappointment
I've read many complaints about the stock tires, read a lot of posts when we first joined the family.
Its a 21 F3S, concluded 15 psi front and 28 rear would be my goal, 99% solo rider. At 15k miles the middle of the tread is 2/32" and the outer edges are 6/32".
Ordered a General Altimax and I am considering lowering the pressure 5 lbs.
Front seem to be wearing better.
The amount of weights from the factory was the first sign I didn't like the factory tires.

15k off the factory rear tire and disappointed? I only got 7800. The altimax at 20 will last 20k-28k on average for rear. Really depends on the road surface. My dad in Arizona on blacktop and cement gets 28k. In PA and NY with everything tar chip I get 20k. My opinion, most will say 18-20 for the rear.

Kenda tires will last if you do not exceed 35MPH, they were designed for your family wheel borrow! They have No structure and go out of round at any speed above 40MPH! JMHO Bill

They've lasted just fine on my table saw stand!

I run the same brand tire on our Spyders as Rapidspyder does.
Started with my F3s and liked it so much I had them (all three) installed on my wife's F3l. She was amazed at how much smoother and better handling her F3 was. When we traded her F3 in for her RT we had the dealer switch out the tires. Got around 36,000 miles on her back tire - it should have been sooner, it still had tread, but thinner than I like. Mine will soon have 30,000 miles on it and I will replace it.
So far of all the different brands of tires I have run (6) on our Spyders (over 200,000 miles combined) these have been the best for handling dry and wet roads as well while providing a smooth ride with outstanding mileage.

I had the same problem as the original poster with the stock rear Kenda.
The interior of the tire was on the wear bars and the outside looked brand new.
My wife always rides with me and we ran the recommended tire pressure at 28psi.
I just replaced the Kenda with only 4,500 miles on it and replaced it with a Kumho at 20psi.

Tires are expendable parts, designed to wear out and replace. what's 125 bucks every 15-30K miles of riding?
Just swapped mine out a few weeks ago.

We have a 2016 F3. I followed the advice of the forum and replaced the rear with a General Altimax at 20 psi. Riding 1-up no problems but riding 2-up (we're not skinny kids) the bike tends to bottom out on a regular basis. Not a hard bottom, no jolts, just enough to make the tire put out a burn smell for a few seconds. Anyone else experience this? Any suggestions? Should I be concerned? Is there a "fix"?
Any advice will be appreciated. We switched from 2 wheels last year and are still learning.

I am thinking that you need to check the air pressure in the rear shock (or bladder). You say that you have a F3, but the picture shows a F3T. They will tend to leak down and need air added. The first 2016 F3T that I had was leaking and had to have the air bag replaced. Fortunately it was under the extended warranty.

It is something that you should have no problem checking yourself, all you need is a tire gauge.

The outer couple of inches on the rear tire is there for show, the middle is for go!
