Does anyone know what this bracket is for?

2021 Spyder RT with a top case. This is in the top case and I'm not sure what it's for. It is obviously designed for something specific, and appears to be very sturdy. Anyone know what it's for? Sorry the picture is sideways for some reason!

It holds the plastic tool to remove that top case.

Thanks Rick...I figured it was something like that since I couldn't find any accessory (such as a liner) that looked like it would fit that. Is that tool a must-have if I ever need to remove the top box?

It can be removed without it with some difficulty, but the tool makes it so much easier.

We just bought our 2021 RT and the former owner installed the top case. The tool didn't come with it, unfortunately. I looked at a parts diagram for the top case on BRP's site, but it didn't show the tool, so I'm not sure how to get one. Hmmm...

Not on the 2020 it didn't.

My 2021 RTL came with the tool but no tool holder. Now I'll have to start looking for one.

My 2021 S2S did not include the holder. I don’t think the holder came along until the 2022 m/y. The OP states that the “ previous owner installed the top case” which I’d bet that that it was an RT that came w/o the trunk from the factory and the previous owner bought a trunk manufactured after the 2022’s were in production, hence the reason you have a 2021 with a holder. Just my speculation.

I didn't even ask the dealer. I found one on ebay last month. It definitely makes taking the top case off a whole lot easier.

With the top case removed turn it upside down. There's a nut you can "loosen" to adjust the tension on the latch handle making it easier turn.

The tool should pop right into the holder. Mine does anyway. And yes, the holder was added for the 2022's.

Mine snaps in and has to be pulled on pretty hard to unsnap it. Maybe yours is broken.
