I actually got a universal rack designed to mount to an enduro but the shape and size was perfect for the newer trunks. I have a small sorta tank bag I use to store the half bike cover when traveling. It has a ton of threaded and other holes for straps and bungee hooks.
I installed on my 21 RT, and my lid stays open. Install was easy and, on my bike, the rack is nice looking without detracting from the lines of the bike. I like the rack and I'm not sure why, but it does stay fully open. It does afford a little more storage. My RTL came after a 20 Goldwing DCT and before that a BMW R1200GSA - both of which had more side bag and trunk storage.

Dr, my rack is powder black as yours and blends in with my 2020 RTL black tour pack on the chalk white machine; I have no problem with the lid staying open. Bottom line, I'm good with it even if I don't need the extra space for a light tour bag, but if I do....
