Default Left rear fender bracket is broken - what's the fix?

I noticed this morning that the left rear fender bracket is torn at the bend to attach it to the fender. The the right one has also started to tear at the same place. I know this problem has been dealt with before but I haven't been able to find the posts. Did people replace the brackets or do something else? Thanks for your help

I had this happen to my 08 GS, and a friend welded it for me ..... this was not an un-common issue with the GS & RS models.... you seem to have an 11 RT and I have No idea how yours broke, I don't even know what bracket you are referring to. ....Pics would help ... good luck .... Mike

I've welded up a few of them with no issues. A little reinforcement weld on the inside will help.

I too have welded up that fender support for a few customers, they are not very strong
