It's a good post Ray,stimulated lots of comment and will have given those other 1st timers like you lots to think about on how ARE they going to get rid of that old nasty stuff. Besides that's what makes the forum interesting,seeing all the different ways we solve the same problem.

Tenin, thanks for posting this. I need a new drain pan as my old one is too small and I end up spilling oil. There's an O'Reilly's about 2 miles away from me and has the pan in stock so I'll pick one up today.

I have the same pan and it works very well. The oil filter drain section is a nice touch.
