Default Want a lower shipping rate/cost to get seat fm TX to ID?

I want to purchase a used seat for a 2016 Can Am Spyder RT-S that is located in Ft. Worth, TX, and have it shipped to Hagerman, ID, 83332. Shipping rate quote via UPS was $212.00. Can't ship via USPS because of size. Does anyone have any idea of a less costly shipping rate??? FYI - I was quoted $648.00 plus tax for a new seat. Thanks - HagermanSpyder

Might try contacting a couple seat companies to see how they ship - they surely don’t pay that much….

Agree with Mikey in Maine. Tried selling a seat with backrest for a while. Finally lowered the price to $50 and had someone drive a couple hours and pick it up.
They got a good deal, and the seat is not thrown away.

Windshields are another high cost item to ship. I have a couple of Jurock's that were too short for me, but the cost of shipping is prohibitive.

I ship Custom seats all over the USA almost daily via USPS the average cost is $68.00 to $80.00 depending where they are going.
The post office is very good and they insure them at a reasonable cost. also check with Gray Hound I have shipped heavy items with the bus company
    with good service and price.

DO NOT go to a UPS or FEDEX store. They typically are franchise owned and charge up the wazoo. If you go directly to a UPS or FEDEX shipping center, you will get a very different price. Those strip mall stores are convenient and OK for small stuff but you do pay the price. Kinda makes you wonder how you can buy big bulky items like MC tires and have them shipped to your door for a few bucks. You just need to know the right places to go for a decent rate. Good luck..... You can put seat in a 40 in tv box sideways and cut Down to fit. Shipping is based on length width and weight. Last seat I shipped fed up ground for like $20. This way.

I have been using "Pirateship.com" for awhile now. They list UPS< USPS and a couple of others and give commercial pricing. I have saved a ton and there is no cost to sign up.

    Hope this helps

Is Pirateship only for commercial bussiness or can individuals use the service?

Greg, anyone can ship using Pirateship. I have shipped a ton of items with them this year after selling my motorcycle and getting rid of lots of items that I had with brand X.
