Default Thanks for the welcome and advice - Spyder comes home tomorrow

I appreciate everyone’s feedback and comments lately. I know I’ve been asking a lot of questions and I’m sure I’ll have more. I pulled the trigger on my first Can Am, a used 2015 Spyder F3-S SM6 today. It’s up at the dealership now getting a fresh oil change ($350) and new front brake pads installed ($350). I also had to order stock shifter and brake linkages because the previous owner has the Ufit position to the shortest configuration. That’s gonna be fun to ride until the parts come in. Those I will hopefully do myself because the dealer wanted over $200 to install them. I can already tell, just like repairing my own pinball machines, that this thing will be very expensive if I don’t do stuff myself.
Anyway, I’m picking it up tomorrow morning and have a 1.5 hr drive home. The dealer said the bike was in overall good shape, except for the front tires, while having decent tread, are 7 years old. The previous owner didn’t have proper inflation riding it there today and it had been sitting for the better part of 2-3 years except for a few occasional short trips to blow the dust off. I plan to run it through its paces this weekend, get used to riding it vs a motorcycle, and hopefully I enjoy every minute of it.
No real upgrade plans yet except for maybe LED headlights and a passenger backrest. And I need some colder weather riding gear since I gave away all my stuff when I sold my last bike.
So that’s it. Excited to get it home tomorrow. Hope it rides as nice as it looks!

Congrats and enjoy. Looks like you are a pretty good do it yourself kind of guy. You will find as you get acquainted that the Spyder isn't to difficult to work on. Lots of stuff shoved into a small container, but still not bad.

$350.00 for an oil change? Glad I can do that and brakes myself.

The new “Zoot-Scoot” is home. Put on just 70 miles to get it home from the dealership and didn’t take me long to get acquainted vs 2-wheels. It’s fun but I’m still grabbing for the invisible front brake lever and keep forgetting I don’t have to put my feet down at a stop
