It should be possible. It's a Bluetooth connection, and that doesn't require anything special. AirPods do pair up more readily with Apple devices but they are not limited to that.

No you cannot. The Spyder realizes they are not a bluetooth helmet communicator and does not allow the connection. I don't believe the Airpods have the proper profile the Spyder is looking for. It is the same with the Samsung Buds, Buds II and Pro.
