How hot do your legs get on an RT
Am curious if the heat off the engine hits your legs while on the floorboards to the point of burning?
Anyone?

No. It comfortable. The bike covers that area up. You may feel the fans on your legs once in awhile. But compared to a Harley it’s way cooler down there.

'21 RTL here - nope - don't notice any Texas heat on my legs - except for the sun bearing straight down on the top of the legs between the knee and groin - but only if sitting still for a long time in the sun, no shade ... like yesterday - while waiting on a friend to get through yakking with people at the golf course parking lot... at high noon...

You don't mention a year but my 2019 was uncomfortably warm at times, but a cat delete helped that out a bunch.

My 2012 RTS vented very hot heat to my right foot/leg in the warmer months to the point of making my foot sweat because thats where the radiator vent is, My 2022 RTL is fine , nothing at all.

I have a 2012 RTL. When I first got it the radiator fans vented directly to my right foot to the point that if I wasn't wearing a heavy boot or shoe it was very uncomfortable. I got the right vent block off plate from Spyderpops and removed the bottom plate from under the engine. I also added the heat mitigation package from the 2013's and that has cooled the riding temp down considerably. I no longer have a heat problem. newer Spyders are much better at this than the older models.

Reason: then (a point in time) - than (a comparison) ;-)

I was asking of a 2022 time frame or newer year.
I am on the fence on getting a RT Limited or Sea to Sky. Probably will get the limited and keep my Goldwing Trike for longer distances.

I came from a Goldwing trike to a Spyder. You may find as I did that it will soon be the other way around. I found I was much more comfortable on the Spyder for long days in the saddle.

50 minutes along long boat key on a 97˚ day and i never felt any heat except from the rear seat as my wife turned the seat onto max
when she got back on.

2014 RT, no heat. I have baker air wings. Probably one of the most effective after market items I've purchased, and I've bought a lot of them.

2020 RT. installed cat delete and BRP adjustable wings and heat was noticeably reduced.

I wonder if this issue is related to individual machines, not otherwise explainable. My first Spyder was a 2019 RTL that I just loved, until this summer Now admittedly, it was hot enough outside for any one with any sense at all to not ride but I did and also my riding buddy on a 2017 HD Dresser. We were riding long days and the temperatures were 100+. My upper legs between the knee and crotch actually got so hot that they blistered. Yhe only way we were able to complete the ride on schedule was for me to buy bottled water to pour over my legs as we went down the road. So on return, I decided to install a Cat by pass and wrap with exhaust temp tape. No difference. I traded the 2019 for a new 2022 Sea to Sky and the heat difference is like night and day. Of course the air flow for the machines is dramatically different.

Can't feel any engine heat whatsoever, whether in low 30s or over 100 degree weather.
