Momentary over heating shown on gauge - any ideas?
This Happened two times to my 2015 Spyder RTL. The temp gage pegs to the top, with the fans running. seconds later it drops back to normal. Any ideas? The first sign of any trouble with the bike in 40,000 miles.

I had this occur ( a few times ) ..... it was because the COOLANT was 16 oz. LOW ..... I topped off ( with DexCool ) and it stopped occurring. I then took a trip and the AMBIENT Temp gauge went to 125 F in bumper to bumper traffic. However my RT didn't overheat .... Checking the fluid level ACCURATELY is almost impossible. I over-filled it and the spyder expelled the excess, and I haven't had any issues since . ..... good luck .... Mike

There is a bleeder screw on the front of the engine block on the right side, below and forward of the water pump. It is very hard to see but I attach a clear hose to it, run it to a "catch can", open it, run the engine while adding remaining initial-fill coolant at the res and when there is no more air exiting the bleeder close it off, fill the res to the cold line, then bring to temp and wait for the fans to cycle, then shut it down and let cool. Top off the res as needed and you're done. Never ended up low or overfilled this way....

Coolant Level
... Well, the coolant level on your Spyder can be a interesting issue. I had the same problem that was posted.
The temperature gauge and fans did the same game. The problem was low coolant, do to a cracked over flow tank.
The Dealer made the repairs. I am happy but my wallet was empty. ......
The service manager said that tanks have cracked on a handful of 2014 to 2019 Spyders.
Not sure why. ......

Not just coolant level but age flush refresh every 2yr. Not just dilute with water.
