Default I am thinking of buying a 6x10’ Cargo trailer to haul my F3s Spyder south this winter

I am thinking of buying a 6x10’ Cargo trailer to haul my F3s Spyder. What are your opinions on this trailer size? I really don’t want to go to 7’ wide, as I am towing with a SUV, and it would be a hand-full weight wise, My vehicle has a 3500 lb. towing capacity, V6.
I know the width will be very tight, most have a 60” width opening with a ramp door.
What are your thoughts and opinions?
    Kind Regards Willie.

I have a 6 by 12 Continental Cargo that I use. Have less than an inch on each side when I put it in so it’s kind of tight. Turned the cable bolts on the gate around also to buy a little more wiggle room.

    Default Open or Enclosed Trailer?

... Well, will this be an Open Trailer?
    Or maybe an enclosed unit?

As been posted above it can be done.
Another option is a Spyder fold-up Trailer.
There is a vendor on This Forum.

I modified a Kendon Dual Big bike trailer for my F3T and it fits perfect. There are some good deals on those trailers on Market place if you search local. I have about $200 in addition to the cost of the trailer. That includes the ramps. I pull it with a small Suzuki Grand Vitara and it doesn't even know it is back there.

You are smart to buy an enclosed. I wouldn't want to trailer my bike over 1000 miles exposed to whatever. It would remain secure when you stop somewhere for the night & you may even have some extra room in there for stuff that would normally have to go somewhere else. You can always sell it after you get to where your going without taking a huge loss on it. Good luck!!

CAUTION I had a 6X12 enclosed cargo trailer when I bought my '19RTL. It would not fit through the door opening! It was 6' wide to the outside of the walls, subtract 1.5" for each wall, subtract another inch for the door frame and the Spyder would not go into the trailer. Measure twice, purchase once!

Thanks WDAVEY, I will measure carefully, My F3s Is 58.9” I found most, but not all Cargo trailers are 60-62” so it will be tight.

I had a tighter trailer than yours and made it work ..... Screw some 3 in. tall boards to either side of the trailer floor, the tires need to fit between them .... this will prevent anything on the Spyder from hitting the sides ..... same as a car wash, just don't try to steer it ...... Mike

Who is the vendor? Looking for a trailer due to moving from Texas to New York. The stinger trailers are nice but too high priced for open trailer.

If you’re heading to new York, look up a company called Blizzard. Michelle can make any trailer you want out of aluminum which will last forever, light weight for your SUV, and she can make it 6’6 wide so you have a bit more space. I have over 50000 miles on my Blizzard Snowmobile Trailer.

+1 for Blizzard trailers. Very high quality, reasonable price for what you get and great people to deal with. They built my 7X14 in 3 weeks to my specs.

This is one trailer I've been looking at or the dual axle one. 69" opening. I'll drive to get one next month and make a few stops along the way. Out here in the west, the prices run $5500 used.. dual axles $6500. I'll be selling a Aluma 7712 with brakes installed.

    Bummer, 63 inch opening maybe...

Skip H, If you plan on using a single axle trailer to move anything over 30 miles away, put your bronco busting gear on!
I have yet to pull a single axle trailer that does NOT ride very rough in the power unit. Try them both and you will appreciate what I'm saying. The tandem trailers are the better trailer. Good Luck Bill

I have a five x ten Alumna trailer that works well for my RT Limited. The front wheels clear the trailer fenders by 1 inch on each side. Just watch loading it on the ramp as I have do ride it up front a sight hill as the trailer ramp is to short for the lower front of the Spyder not to catch.

I've towed a two axle trailer and my last one was a 5 X 11' single axle that I've hauled my Honda 1800 across country several times. The trailer with bike weighed @ 2400 lbs and I put 250 lbs on the truck's hitch and it never bucked or bounce excessively and that was going across I-40.

After checking out trailers here in Las Vegas and measuring the ramp openings on several 6 x 12 enclosed trailers, I'm going to go to a 7 x 12 two axle trailer because the openings are not wide enough on the 6 x 12. But- I'm not gonna buy one here that's for sure. They have more charges that the car dealerships have. The sales people here all think that because this is Vegas I should pay more.
Anything comparable to what I ordered is $2000 to 2500 more without the options. If I bought from a person, no sales tax, so I'll get stuck with that buying from a dealer. Used trailers go for the same price as the new ones because of all the ground maintenance people.

I didn't want to go that big and I let the salesman talk me into a few options.
So I'm off for Douglas, Ga on Monday morning for a pick up on Thursday, then on to Florida for a week.
