Hoping for good weather for your trip. I am sure we will be out and about somewhere around the area.
We ride all the little back roads a lot rather than the mainstream highways that get you from point a to b.
We have those roads mostly to ourselves as the general 2 and 3 wheeler visitors are mostly on the main roads trying to hit all the hot spots before they have to head home.
The backroads are paved and many take you through open range between cattle guards.
The Butler Map of the Hill Country of Texas shows the many little roads as well as the main thoroughfares. They cost around $14-16 last time I checked. Have seen them for sale at the Kerrville Visitors Center next door to the Cracker Barrel as well as a few gas stop locations. They can be ordered online as well.
Enjoy your ride and we definitely low-wave to all 2 and 3 wheelers. Very rare that they don’t wave back..
P.s. It is my understanding that the main organizers of the rally moved to Oklahoma. Evidently there has been no interest in trying to resurrect it.

Bandera Crossing RV Resort in Bandera is hosting the first annual RV/Biker Rally. (Sept 22,23,24) Event info is on their website.
They have twisted sister rides scheduled along with other events and seminars. Specifically designed for RV and bike enthusiasts.
I'm going to give it a shot!

We had a great time riding the Hill Country Twistiies. Lot's of sunshine and lots of very small butterflies that gave their lives to our windshield and air intaIkes. We had to clean each several time on the ride Saturday. Unfortunately we witnessed the aftermath of a full dresser accident just south of Vanderpool. Rider was on backboard being loaded into a emergency vehicle as we passed. It appeared that the rider was part of a pretty large group possibly on of the ride events from the Bandera rally. We raise a prayer for safe recovery from the event. The hills were alive with color and scenery. One of the best ride weekends in a long time.

Glad you had a great weekend here in the Texas Hill Country.
It seems that there is often an accident with the larger group rides here in the hills. That is one reason we tend to stay away from the big group rides.. among other reasons such as, extended time waits at gas stops and restaurants.. parking constraints.. but at the end of the day its fun to see all the different machines and meet/talk with the folks who ride them.
