Default Are Belt Tensioners installed on new bikes same as they used to be?

Just wondering if BRP had updated them when they began installing as a factory build, as opposed to those they used to sell as an accessory? Can't seem to find them on the fiche to compare part numbers. Just a matter of curiosity on my part.

FWIW, I've read all the pros/cons about use of the belt tenioners. I recently added an OEM that I bought a couple years ago but never got around to installing, on my '16 F3T and it works for me. Plan to update to a Lamonster version sometime soon.

All I know is from personal experience. I took delivery on a new 2022 Sea to Sky and I checked it and found a factory installed tension-er already in place. Prior to this bike I had a 2019 RTL and installed a Lamonster version which worked for me. I will replace the roller on the new bike with Lamonster replacement after a while.

My 2021 F3-S SS came with a belt tensioner from the factory.

Mine came from the factory with one, Rick. I believe that practice started with the ‘21 RT.

From what I have read on this forum the '21's had them about mid year. I think the early year builds did not have them. I'm not for sure on that. My '22 does for sure.

Yes, that sounds familiar, Dave. Mine was a later built 2021.

Let's get back to the original question. Are the belt tensioners now installed by the factory different from the ones BRP was selling to us as an add on?
