The installation of the spring worked on the seat of my 2021 RTL but not on my 2022. The spring just slid all the way down and didn’t fit the strut the same way as the 2021. I will be ordering the improved replacement part for both seats from SlingMods. I’m not a fan of that spring. The trunk lift replacement I purchased from SlingMods has worked really nicely. The OEM trunk lift strut has worked flawlessly so far on the 2022.

Thanks so much for the tip! I just ordered the springs from Amazon for $8.52 but that's a whole lot better than what a new ShowChrome strut costs! Best wishes!!

Or is it in the 'Last edited by...' line at the bottom of his post, where just a few minutes after Danzguy originally posted, he added as a reason for his edit "Reason: 2022 RTL"

Mind you, either way, bikerbill's question is still a good one, seeking clarification on which Spyder year & model Danzguy has, as it does!

The spring was put on a newer Spyder, 2020 and above.
I doubt that it will work on the older spyders as I think that they had a longer cylinder/strut.

Well, I need to check this out since mine is a 2020 RTL. Shooter, can you be specific on the Amazon spring that fits, I did a search and couldn't find it.

The pics show the spring that the original poster in this thread used on his 2020 RT (middle pic shows the part #):

Works well except the strut being longer the seat arm catches the side body plastic. Doesn't hurt anything, but I don't like it.
When my wife's 2021 seat started to not always stay up I looked for a different solution. I found a spring at Ace Hardware that works great giving the stock strut the needed help to stay up.
Dammit! The pics were meant to show in the quoted post too!! No biggie, just click on '<<First' in the page number bar up above the top right of the first post on this page - that'll take you back to the first post in the thread, where the pics are displayed.

K80shooter's post #14 includes an Amazon link too:

If you click on any of the others the part number changes.
