    Default Replacing F3 gas cap.

Replacing F3 gas cap. Info borrowed from Facebook, Thank You to Bob Nevitt.

I have never liked the hard closure the stock F3 gas cap.

Project: 2017 F3T, Change the locking gas cap to non-locking. You have several options. There are caps from Customspyderworks and Lamonster Garage offering. There may be others.
If you are handy, there is another option which is a lot less expensive. Installation details are shown on YouTube.
The one shown below is listed on Ebay - CNC Keyless Fuel Gas Cap Fit for Kawasaki EX 250 300 Ninja ER 250 300 08-17 BK.

Lists for $37.00 to $39.00 depending on when you buy. The one I have listed is the correct size for F3 Spyder. There are several similar caps listed. Make sure the dimensions are correct. The plate is 100 mm side to side and the mounting holes are 75 mm measured diagonally. Not included is the tool needed to loosen the nut holding the grounding screw and a wire to fish the new grounding wire up to where it can be attached to the new cap.
I made a tool to hold the nut with an 8mm wrench taped to a scrap piece of aluminum. Not professional, just functional. I had wire and a ring connector from previous projects. The screws that came with the cap were a little short. Replaced with (3 of 5mm x 40mm required)+(3 of 5mm x 16mm optional). Cost me couple of bucks to replace all the screws with the proper countersunk stainless steel screws, not shown in the photos. Total cost ~$40.00 for the Cap and Screws project versus $140.00 to $190.00 for kits with a plastic or aluminum tool and piece of wire!
I am very happy with the installation and the savings.
