Default Check engine light on after replacing spark plus & wires

2011 Spyder RT , replaced spark plugs and wires with Barron. Replaced air filter and Reinstalled the air box. Wanted to start it up before putting the frunk and all the panels back on to ensure everything is working but when I started the engine the check engine light came on. Is that because I don’t have the frunk and all panels installed or do I have another problem? Is there a way to check codes in 2011? Never had check engine light issues prior to today.

    Thanks

If you don't have the frunk back on yet, then you haven't re-connected the Ambient Air Temperature and Pressure Sensor yet. That would most likely be the source of your code and CEL. Right hand side, nestled up under the plastic. The wiring harness plug that is still disconnected is on the right hand side someplace.

    You check codes:

First make sure that the code is ACTIVE. No matter what Spyder you have, you can only display ACTIVE codes from the instrument display. That means that the code has to be ACTIVE at the exact moment in time that you are checking for it.

So, most reliably is with the motor running and the check engine light ON. Simultaneously depress all three of the Following buttons - MODE, SET, and Turn Signal Cancel. (turn signal button pushed straight in).

The display will switch to a window and display your code. But in your case, just finish putting the thing together and try again.

Thank you Doug for you help, I appreciate it. I put everything back together today and no check engine light. The Bajaron plugs and wiring are great.

    Thanks, Bill
