SPYDER F3-S SPECIAL SERIES - pre-purchase questions?
Good Morning All
A couple of questions first I'm doing my research on getting a SPYDER F3-S SPECIAL SERIES. So what first what is the break in period for the engine and drive train plus when is the first service. And what are some of the mods I should look into doing Thanks All

READ THE MANUAL, the complete manual from start to finish. Break in time, first and every service intervals.....ALL COVERED.
Mods required....NONE...until you’ve put a few thousand miles on, and then you’ll know, and appreciate much more.

Second all the above, Read the manual, get a few thousand miles under your belt, then start modding, Spyder is quite capable, right out the box, but there will always be personal thingies, you would want to chane
the funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it........

If you don't have access to a hard copy manual download on from this link and drill down to the manual you want.

First service 3000 miles. Break-in 600 miles, no hard braking for first 200 miles. As for mods, more lights are always a good thing. First thing I did to my 22 F3 Limited Special was add the Spyclops LED. Very simple added visibility for just over 50 bucks!

If you're getting a brand new F3-S SS, you will need to plan on getting a windshield as it only comes with a little gauge spoiler. Also get a set of middle pegs - makes it so much easier to mount and dismount the bike. And if you weigh more than 175 pounds I recommend an aftermarket rear shock and spring set up for your weight.
My Mods:
Elka Stage 5 rear shock with spring preload adjust
Monster Stage 2 ECU
Pedal Commander
RLS cat delete
Baja Ron sway bar
Baker Air Wings upper and lower
Viking saddle bags
Third pegs
Vredestein tires front and rear
Mad Stad windshield
X-creen windshield deflector
Front and rear drive cam
Garmin Zumo XT
Heated gear wiring
Lamonster LED headlights
Lamonster LED foglights
Lamonster frame mount cupholder
BRP heated handgrips
Lamonster drivers backrest
BRP passenger backrest
Lidlock handlebar end helmet locks
Barkbusters Storm handguards
