I took a motorcycle test and bought a 2012 RTS-SE5, and from then on, I was hooked...
I bought the 2012 in Vermont.

About 2 years ago in Las Vegas. I rented a Spyder R3S and rode Red rock Canyon for 5 hours. It was a blast and I was hooked on the Spyder at that point!

It was about 2 years ago during a trip to Las Vegas, a.k.a. "Lost Wages". My g/f and I were looking for something to do besides lose money at the casinos, LOL.

I happened upon an outfit called "Las Vegas Spyder Tours" (not sure they're in existence anymore). They had a tour of the Red Rock Canyon area on Spyders, so we decided to book one. We've been always intrigued with the machines, and were wondering if one can find its way to our fleet of vehicles. (Our local Reno dealership only offered test rides in their parking lot. You read that right - IN THEIR PARKING LOT, even with a valid motorcycle license).

Anyway, we go and check out the place. The owners briefly went over the controls, gave us the required helmets and told us to practice at their parking lot. We could only do the 1-2 shift, but it gave us an idea of what it was like to shift using the paddleshifters. So after our group had a "crash course" of all of about 10 minutes (bad use of that term, I know), we proceeded to head out of town.

Our ride was a mix of 25 mph in-town riding to 85 mph blasts down the interstate, with a mix of everything else in-between. I told the owner/operator who lead our group that I was considering buying one and needed a thorough test ride, and he replied, "Ride it like you stole it".

That was all I needed to hear.

After our 2-hour tour, we decided then and there that a Spyder WILL find its way to our garage.

Later that summer, we decided to do a road-trip loop (we never take the same route back on a road-trip) to Yosemite from Reno. On the way back, we spontaneously made a stop that Elk Grove Power Sports in Elk Grove, CA. Come to find out that they had an RT Limited that was a leftover STILL IN THE CRATE. They were willing to sell it at a heavily discounted price to make room for the new models.

A week later, we had an RTL in our garage.

So what was your first experience with a Can-Am ??

I did my test ride in 2007 when they first came out and I hadn't ridden a highway two wheeler or 3 wheeler since. My 22 F3S had been sitting in the showroom for about a year when I walked by to buy some parts for a lawnmower and asked what it had for equipment and price? I have had a 2 wheeler designation on my drivers license since about the 70's. After thinking about it for a week I decided to buy it since I wasn't getting any younger. It is now parked next to my 2019 Renegade XRS Turbo R (with MG highlights) with 180 HP.

I wrote a check, got the insurance and license plate and rode it home (my demo ride) a day later. I took it for a 200 mile round breakin trip, a day later and didn't care for the wind buffeting at 70 mph on the highway. Now I am waiting for a few accessories including a windshield and will do the same round trip to see how it goes.

Oct 2022. Had been looking at 3 wheelers and had just gotten my 3 wheeler endorsement via MSF course. Wife found a 2019 Spyder RTL in Phoenix Orange in Athens GA that had 3400 miles on it. Went to just look but ended up buying it after the owner took both of us pillion around the back roads where he lived.
Went back 2 weeks later with cash in hand. checked the bike out and lo and behold the tires were at 5-8 psi all around from just sitting. Had to drive 3 miles to station with air hose and put 20 psi in front and 28 in back.
Ride home was frankly awful. I85 in North GA has terrible pavement, badly broken in places, trucks were blasting past @ 80 mph and as you can guess the Spyder was getting blown around , plus me using death grip on bars. Once we got to Atlanta, we took back roads home which was better but I was thinking why did I do this.
Parked in garage and went for several weekend mini jaunts and started feeling better. My wife really liked riding pillion, but she kept saying...mebbe one for just her....
Then the DESS went bad and then battery died...so new battery, new DESS ( installed it myself) then took it to local dealer who did the first oil /filter change and I installed the BajaRon swaybar / endlinks and adjusted the tire pressure down. Rode much better. Had the bike laser aligned at Extreme Propulsion in Cartersville GA which further helped.
Finally just got to replacing the front Kendas with 165/60/15 Continental ContiProContacts. Big difference at high way speeds !
    Finally happy ....

So a month ago, we finally went and started looking at new Spyders for her. Ended up at Extreme Propulsion as they had several RT, RTL and one Sea-to-Sky all 2023 in stock. They gave us a new RTL to drive and we both enjoyed it, esp the riding position/floor boards being better than the 2019 RTL. Got back and bought the Sea-to-Sky. Picked it up 1 week later and have been enjoying it greatly since. That one is my wifes ride as i had promised her the next Spyder would be hers.

2024 RT Sea to Sky screen now working but codes will remain until BRP releases the ACP update.
2023 RT Sea to Sky Shadow Green (guess what? NO errors at all in 9 months of owning!) Such a sweet S2S :-)

I want say around 2008 in Moab. We met some friends there to camp and have fun. He always brought his MC and a jeep. We just towed our civic. Anyway, I rented a spyder for a day and we toured. Swore I would never own one as they were just to weird to drive/ride. I am now on my 3rd one. Does that mean I like them?

My first time was over the 4th of July weekend this year when I rented an F3-S for a week. I was considering making the move from 2 wheels to 3 and decided renting one was a good idea. I wanted to see if I could tolerate commuting on one (I live in California and am used to being able to filter through heavy traffic). Plus since it was so hot, I figured if I could tolerate commuting for a week in the worst California commute conditions then the rest of the time would be okay.

I ended up buying a new one a couple of weeks ago and couldn't be more pleased.

The first time I drove a trike was when I picked-up my 2022 Spyder from the dealer and drove it home about an hour away.

Almost a year later I still find it squirrelly on the highway, but I like it on backroads and in the city. Unfortunately the nearest Spyder laser alignment place is about 14 hrs away. So until I can tow it there, I'll just have to live with it.
