Default Don't like having to turn wheels to lock

I hate changing wheel orientation just to lock the front glovebox.
Has anyone tinkered with installing some other type of locking mechanism in the lid?
I know it's already a SMALL glovebox but.........??

If you look at the avatar under my username to the left, the tank bag that Max my former Assistance Dog sits in covers that glovebox pretty well & makes it awful hard to get into the glovebox unless you know the trick to releasing the tank bag - and no, it's not just like every other tank bag & easily released, it's been modded to have a restraining harness for the dog inside it that's secured to the main spar below/behind the glovebox & under the seat; while the front of the bag is cable locked to the main spar ahead of the glovebox thru/under the panels surrounding the steering shaft.

But just like many other 2-wheeled m/bikes I've owned, I still hafta turn the handlebars to full lock to lock them &/or for the Spyder, lock the Frunk & Glovebox! There again, 2013 RT's like mine still had a Frunk switch on the dash panel that'd open it, if yours is a later RT, that might not be of so much concern..... But regardless, is there really anything to be gained by not locking the handlebars at full lock, AND locking the Frunk & Glovebox too??

I have yet to actually lock my Spyder. I just turn the key to off and remove the key. With the Parking barke engaged, no one can just roll it away. Unless the thief is familiar with Spyders, there is no way that he would know to press the Mode button before hitting the starter button. So overall I don't worry about it. One reason I don't use the Lock feature is that I would have to remember to turn the handlebars full over before I shut the engine by turning the key to Off. I'm so used to just turning it off that I would end up having to re-start the bike just to turn the bars to lock it. And if worst comes to worst, my insurance will pay me for the stolen bike.

I just don't put anything valuable in there. If I ever do, I will lock it. I normally park in the garage so no need to lock it there. And I work on a secure army base so not much vehicle theft.

I have never locked mine. There's nothing in there that's worth anything anyhow.

It won't even hold the pistol that I carry because it's so small.

Maybe your pistol is just too big?
My backup concealed carry Ruger LCP AND my leather wallet both ride in that compartment while I'm rolling.
Full size carry is another thing altogether.
